Miltz Posted August 4, 2023 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does the camera have a weather sealing gasket around the USB-C/HDMI door? I’ve been trying to locate this info but I can’t find it. If you have the Q3 can you please comment. I get a cameras wet often and it’s legit concern for me. Advertisement Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Hi Miltz, Take a look here Q3 weather sealing. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
beewee Posted August 4, 2023 Share #2 Posted August 4, 2023 Whether it has gaskets or not doesn’t really matter if the camera is only IP52 rated and is resistant against dripping water with a tilt of up to 15° from vertical. The camera can certainly take more than that but it’s not designed to so you’re rolling the dice.

It’s a valid question. If someone has the camera, please let me know. I can’t tell in the pictures online. Thanks.

There are no weather-sealing gaskets on the port door, but we do not know if the ports are not weather-sealed themselves. Smartphones have exposed ports, but they can still be used for snorkeling.

But no rubber lips to tighten. Its difficult to explain. I am missing the technical terms. But it looks quite solid.
Tennisarm12 Posted August 19, 2023 Share #6 Posted August 19, 2023 Apparently they empty a bucket of water on top of the camera during presentations at the Leica dealer I visited yesterday. That should suffice to prove it's watertight. Cheers, Peter

Etcherman Posted August 23, 2023 Share #12 Posted August 23, 2023 The Q2 was attached to a short tripod I knocked over, it’s a bit of a blur but I’d guess it was in for 3 seconds. 3 hours ago, pcgarner said: I love this shot. Philis Posted November 14, 2024 Share #13 Posted November 14, 2024 I’m going on sailing holiday so no hardcore diving. I just want something that would save a Q3 if it fell over board or some very light snorkelling. Has anyone used a bag style arrangement for a Q? I don’t want to buy 2k diving rig

bgreig Posted December 3, 2024 Share #16 Posted December 3, 2024 Should a Q3 be rinsed off if subjected to salt water (e.g, spray on a boat)?
jaapv Posted December 3, 2024 Share #17 Posted December 3, 2024 It is at most protected from spray coming from straight above. Wipe, not rinse. People strike it lucky - I did with my M cameras and some others as well, but you are tempting fate. The IP rating is 52. Quote Vertically dripping water shall have no harmful effect when the enclosure is tilted at an angle of 15° from its normal position. A total of four positions are tested within two axes. Philis Posted January 29 Share #18 Posted January 29 Has anyone ordered off ewa-marine in the last 6 months? There seems to be no way to enter payment details and they haven’t responded to my emails. I wondered if it’s a problem being based in the UK. Do any company’s make waterproof camera bags similar to the ewa-marine ones? I’ve had a look but haven’t found anything
