I hope you are referring to the intermittent freeze ups, or is there a separate power problem?  In the month or so that I have had mine, I have only had the thing freeze up twice.  Dropped the battery and restarted it, it was fine.  There may also be some sort of "fix" for the excessive battery drain problem??  All in all, though, I have to admit, I like this one better than either the Q or Q2, mainly, the auto focus. no problems there.

Most certainly,

I have always been cautious with firmware updates on any device. Even Hugh's Three blind men and and elephant video where he bricked his new M11 was a reality check when it come to firmware updates. I shall sit back and see how the other go first.

Must have missed that one.  How did he brick a new 11?

firmware 1.20 is available for the Q3 😉  installed without worries. I just had to reprogram my personalization buttons..

Same here, no issues but had to reprogram buttons and set date and time.

Start up time much faster.

I haven't had any freezes since I updated the firmware. However, when using AFc or AFi, I still very often have an image that appears to be blurry or even completely ouf of focus when half-pressing, which in fact turns out to be perfect when you review the picture afterwards. I find that extremely distracting.

no problems installing the update - FOTOS makes it so easy, no cables, etc. It took about a minute for update to transfer from iPhone to Q3 then another couple of minutes to install. Like others have said, I had to reset everything - no big deal.

Q3 starts up almost instantly. I had none of the other freeze up problems so I can't report on any other noticeable differences from before to after installing the update.

I continue to adore the Q3.

I went ahead and installed it.  No problems, except for the custom buttons and date settings.  I only had it freeze up twice before, both times, dropping the battery took care of it.  I tend to keep the firmware up to date, mainly because of the occasional unpublished tweaks the manufacturer may throw in there.

You are a lucky person.  In my case the update transferred from the iPhone to the cam quickly but my update did not indicate it was completed even after 20 monies.  The message disappeared but there were no confirming messages that it had successfully been updated.  I just turned the Q3 off, removed the battery after an unsuccessful restart, then replaced the battery, turned it on and it was fine.  Scary for awhile.
