Received the GFX100RF last week, and after a citywalk with photoshopping in Luxembourg I must say that the camera impresses me a lot. Dynamic range for post is incredible good, handling of the 745gr Camera+lens is soo fine. Absence of IBIS and „only“ F4 is not a problem. Also good as a GAS therapy 🙂
Advertisement Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Hi satijntje, Take a look here Q2/Q3 or Hasselblad X2D? Which do you choose?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

It is very convenient for me, thanks to its relatively small size/weight and digital zoom, which allows me to cover the 28-50 range with acceptable quality for me. Its full weight with the hood is 810 grams (it would be strange to use a medium format camera and sacrifice contrast by not using the hood)

I am still undecided whether to shoot with or without the hood. For me, the RF camera is more about handling than getting the best IQ.
Mikep996 Posted June 17 Share #284 Posted June 17 I love my X2D with the 38mm lens (I have a 55 as well but the 38 is my main "user") . My only complaint about it is that there is no Hasselblad forum as good as these Leica forums - at least that I have been able to find!

I don't know of a forum as good as this one for any other camera maker. The medium format thread at DP Review is 90% Fuji vs. 10% Blad. A couple of tremendous people there, including the inimitable Jim Kasson, who deserves some sort of lifetime achievement award from all of us. But overall, it doesn't come close to comparing to the Leica Forum. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/1067 But Getdpi is excellent as an all-purpose forum. Lots on Blads, both film and digital, but particularly interesting are the discussions about technical cameras, something that almost never gets mentioned here. That's a whole other world. https://www.getdpi.com/forum/index.php?whats-new/posts/2728167/

In your case, the problem is that you came with a Russian IP. Due to the situation in Ukraine, the owner decided to temporarily ban any applicants with a Russian IP. That limitation was overcome by at least two LUF members personally vouching for you.

You are taking my post out of context. No, people who want to join hasselbalddigitalforum.com do not need other members to vouch for them. There is a temporary restriction for applicants with a Russian IP. The forum's owner decided to forego the restriction if current forum members asked for a restricted applicant to be allowed to participate. I think that is better than being inflexible. The only thing that you may take issue with is that he blocks Russian IPs because of Ukraine. P.S.: Hasselbladdigitalforum.com is a lovely and valuable forum for those interested in all things Hasselblad. Edited June 17 by SrMi

pgh Posted June 18 Share #294 Posted June 18 (edited) I’ve been on that forum for a good while, barely active. There’s just not much there is the truth of it. It’s fine if maybe a specific thing you’re interested in is covered. For me it wasn’t too helpful with specific questions I had - though usually the answer was something like “yea Hasselblad just doesn’t have an answer for this use case” - so you learn there are more limits and you work within them or you don’t use your equipment. As for who can and can’t join - I don’t know, the founder has a seemingly low, but specific bar. Photographers actually using Hasselblad products - and a need to fill out a profile first. Not too onerous I don’t think - you at least sort of atempt to address the issue of speaking without experience of the tool. I think the past two decades has shown how often the world actually does often benefit from gatekeepers of a sort. The total internet free for all doesn’t look like a successful experiment anymore - it was good enough before aggressive capital got involved and essentially ruined everything. (Maybe one reason this forum still functions well enough is that the incentives here are not the same as in most of the internet - which is to say monetization of just about everything from an individual user to the platform they are on). Anyone is welcome to start another forum, but if you put in the work to get it going I think you’ve got right and reason to make sure the space stays aligned with the vision you set out for it, whatever you see fit. A private Internet forum is not the public square and shouldn’t be conflated as such. I don’t know the specifics of the moderation over there but I’ve been part of communities that were more aggressively moderated and ones that had barely any at all. Both have their pitfalls and their benefits. Edited June 18 by pgh

The forum itself is nothing special, mostly 5-6 active people (alwasy the same usernames) either sharing rumors or copying links to the latest releases and commenting, here and there someone was genuinely helping with various issues other users had but that was mostly it. You could go through the entire forum in one day (try that here lol). I am really disappointed that it is so secretive and by invite only. It cuts off 90% of folks who do not know its content and thus not ask for acceptance. Hence not my cup of tea - and I gladly contribute (as per my currently 6K+ posts here). That is not true, to say in a very polite way. Also, it is not invite only.
