In the Canuts section of Lyon, France, there was a huge eye sore of a building front - ugly, old gray concrete (the last photo shows what it had been), with 3 or four advertising billboards, and nothing else.  The images we see below are from the 3rd iteration of the "beautification," updated partly to reflect the current times, such as the bank and the real estate offices on the ground floor.  The street art mural closest to this in quality that I've seen was in Quebec City, both masterpieces of trompe l'oeil

The first image is the real estate office,. in which Barbara is interacting.  After that are details of sections of the mural, an overall photo of the building, an image of a prior iteration, and what the building looked like before any murals.  If you're in Lyon it's worth a long uphill trek to see it.  Go early in the day to avoid heat and crowds at the mural.

Lyon, the French capital of gastronomy!
I hope you enjoyed the food; I haven’t been there for such a long time!
