it has an EVF, which is retractable, quite genius engineering.

Look at the first photo of post #339

IMO that is a horrible hack. I hate it on my RX100s, and it is one of the main reasons why I prefer the D-LUX 7 instead.

the Q3 uses a BP-SCL6 battery, the Q2 has BP-SCL4.

seems like Leica will also sell its own charging mat.

Grip looks Arca Swiss compatible which is a nice touch.

I wonder if having caps and thumb grip in 3 colors mean that they will sell the camera in more than just black.

So a grip for a Q2 won't work on a Q3?  I guess if a marketing executive suggested it should she would be out of job quite rapidly! ;)

I gotta' say, if Leica is serious about offering gold/silver colored accessories, the people that badmouth Leica cameras as being mostly about rich peoples's fashion statements appear to be correct.  😱

number of pixels do not increase body size. Still same real estate of 24x36mm

By the way a Q2-S with 24MP would have been excellent

No need to defend your post 😅

Q2 grip should work on Q3 if the footprint is the same, which it should be.

Q3 grip will not work on Q2 as there is an alignment pin on the Q3 grip and there’s no alignment hole on the Q2.

I wonder, regarding the flip screen… what if the camera freezes (not unlike as all latest models from Leica has this option), will you still be able to fold the screen back or will it remain locked?

It is already available with latest Q2 firmware

It worked on Leica Q, but they managed to disable it in Q2. I waited a year for this function on Q2, but I couldn't stand it and eventually sold Q2, switching to using two M10s (now two M11s). I'm afraid it may take 2-3 years to fix this in Q3 too.

Just looked up the statistics on this forum: 193k posts in the international SL-Forum area, but only 71k posts in the Q-Forum

Perhaps more people have problems with the SL and need help from other users.

I own a Q2M. I appears to be an almost perfect camera within the context of it's intended limitations. I've owned it for 2 years and never felt compelled to come to an online message board because the camera is so intuitive. I'm only here today because of a Q3 rumor link.

The standard BBF implementation is unavailable in Q2 with the latest firmware, 5.0.0. A proper BBF decouples focusing from the shutter button and initiates focusing with the rear button only.

The latest Q2 "BBF" implementation locks the focus with the rear button until you change the aperture, turn the top wheel, or press any of the buttons. Then it reverts to focusing via the shutter button.

What do you mean with more pixels would put you off?

I really don't need a 60mp sensor and am happy with the present one. More pixels often mean more issues at high iso (important to me) with noise and the DNG files are huge (This is mitigated if you use Adobe Lightroom as by updating the metadata you can halve the size of the file)

The three Leica Q cameras of my dreams for street photography would look like this: Q28/5.6 APO IBIS, Q35/5.6 APO IBIS, Q50/5.6 APO IBIS. An aperture of 5.6 would probably allow the small size of the lenses to be preserved and the ability to be apochromatic.

You have experience with that?
