Yeah, my Leica store never acknowledges stuff until it's been released. I'm always amazed to hear people getting inside info, sneak peaks, etc.

It probably depends on your relationship with your Leica dealer or sales person. If you’re a longtime loyal customer, you may get more inside info.

Just wondering how many people won’t sleep tonight…

Yeah, as excited as I was (unpopular opinion comes) with the introduction of M Typ 240 that replaced my - then - existing gear and complimented Hassy V with Aptus digital back for travel and low light photography. Yes, I don’t change tools often

the latest update of macOS and iOS shows the Q3 in the supported Raw formats page ;)

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213267

"This list is current as of 23 May 2023 and reflects compatibility with the latest versions of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura."

Swedish pricing has been posted (accidentally): https://www.gotaplatsensfoto.se/product-search?q=q3

I find it so strange that the wireless charging grip costs less than the thumb support.

It might be the case that the "official" announcement is tomorrow but the presentation of the new product to a selected number of invited people takes place today. And these selected people are probably just customers . . . I am no VIP and got sill an invitation.

Ok thanks.
Closest store from my place is 600 km (373 mi) away (Porto), or 670 km (416 mi) away (Madrid)
No invitation so far, from Leica Porto I am always invited to events, exhibits, presentations... so maybe there is none today? Didn't see any indication in their website.

About the tilt screen option which would be very useful to me (eventhough I still can lie on the ground and get up...) the doubt is that many photographers reported problems wih theirs in the area I live: on the beach the sand is one of the finests of the continent, even if some may think it is an avantage it is not.

As we are a windy country this sand dust introduces itself everywhere, even on key holes so we have regularly to clean keylock mechanisms and also change them... same with cars "sleeping" outside.

When I take the cam to the beach I just pull it out of the bag to take the photo, and then back to the bag. Have to clean it carefully, use a smooth brush and also pressure air bomb. Same in the sierra, dry season is extending in time with climate change, all is dry and dusty like in the photo and wind (burning hot in Summer time) is present most of the days.

Will wait for local infos about it, but does anyone here heard of the problem?

I picked up my Q3 yesterday evening. AF seems to be a decent improvement, but need to test it properly today.

They asked me not to post photos of it or from it until 3PM today, so this confirms the embargo time of 3pm reported earlier.

Can you say whether it is possible to see the 35, 50, 75, 90mm focal lengths as a crop now in the viewfinder or are there again just frames (which, unfortunately, I suppose)?

I have a dust problem at my French house. Normally the Var department in Provence is a very dry area but from the number of lightning alarms I have been getting on my iPad in the last month (I am currently stuck in the UK for daily medical treatment until the beginning of July), it must be very wet at the moment. This is actually very welcome as there has been an 18 month long drought there, with water use restrictions and heightened forest fire risk. My house is right at the edge of a 350 metre high escarpment overlooking the Bresque Valley, all the way to Aix en Provence, some 100 km away, so the wind which blows naturally along the valley from the west, picks up dust and then as it sweeps over my house, deposits it there. I invested in a kit to fit my Miele vacuum cleaner with all sorts of small and/or soft nozzles for vacuuming dust out of cameras. The worst culprits for jamming with dust are telescoping lenses on point and shoot cameras. I keep an old Kyocera film camera which has an excellent Zeiss designed telescoping 24-105 auto focus zoom lens for using in locations, where I would not want to risk any of my Leicas. This has to have the lens mechanism vacuumed regularly or it will jam. My wife has had 3 Leica P&S cameras die from jammed lenses (C-Lux 1, C-Lux 3 and V-Lux 20) in spite of regular vacuuming.
