No filter. No hood even. I have been pondering how this came. (just a note in case of conusion: the picture is pre-asph. version)
Anyway the Asph. is beautiful, wide open, hope to pull the trigger on a new BC version - Very Soon. Awe-inspiring.

I have a "technical" question on the Asph.

My 50-Summilux version II has quite some coma in the edges. That is, there will be 'butterflies' at certain moments. How is this with the asph (first AND second)? There the MTF curves just goes south too in the last 4 mm of the diagonal.

My example shot where I do not take the trouble to make a 100% shot of the corner: the OPTIQUE sign is clear, the street lights on the other hand overwhelm the lens.

Coma + astigmatism is typical for a pre-asph lens corners.
The 50 asph has none of these, as you can surely see from 12 pages of samples here like post #52, #84, #98 etc.

Picked one up around a week ago, I've not had a chance to go out and about with it yet so here's one of my cats until I do. :)
