payasam Posted August 17, 2012 Share #610 Posted August 17, 2012 Three bodies is plenty: even if the IIIf and IIIg each have only a 50mm lens.

M6Mann Posted August 19, 2012 Share #612 Posted August 19, 2012 How can you NOT love the M6 once you've used it.
payasam Posted August 19, 2012 Share #613 Posted August 19, 2012 Over the decades I have known some people who did not take to M Leicas and went with other brands. My own reaction to my M6 was one of panic. I had spent all the money I could raise on a camera which I could not focus. After the view-finder was fixed (more money), I found it much like my familiar old friends the M3 and the M2.
Guest MarcRF Posted August 28, 2012 Share #614 Posted August 28, 2012 My entry into the Leica world... got to the Leica shop and fell in love with this beauty and the matching lens.. some things just can't get seperated once they've come together edit: to put full information: Leica M6 ttl chrome 0.58 rangefinder (from a collector... unused and recently checked in Solms) and a brand new Summilux 50 asph chrome... love it Welcome, dear visitor! ramosa Posted August 30, 2012 Share #615 Posted August 30, 2012 How can you NOT love the M6 once you've used it. Ditto. Got one about 10 days ago. I thought I'd had a love affair with my M8. Then I met my M6.
dachs Posted August 30, 2012 Share #616 Posted August 30, 2012 my very second hand M6 was my first Leica purchase. I guess because it is very 'run in' it is still a favourite; tactile, a work of art, almost jewellery for blokes (!), and with modern lenses does what it says on the tin (sorry, brass). I did not think twice about a second hand body - how many mechanical objects can you say that of? In every respect it does everything the Leica manuals promise, I would guess it will for a couple of generations to come. I get a similar feeling from my MP's, but they haven't yet lived through sturm and drang so they have not got that indefinable 'something' about them. I can see why some people still use M3's; there is a certain aura to certain machines which cannot be accurately quantified
plasticman Posted August 30, 2012 Share #617 Posted August 30, 2012 very nice...excuse my ignorance but what is the strap? andy Hi Andy - I think it's an Artist and Artisan silk cord strap. Here's an image I found online of the red strap - A&A don't seem to have the red on their site.
