Shouldn’t the shutter fire when you push the shutter button?

UPDATE!  Took of the shutter release button and thought all was well. Did a shoot with a model and had one stutter- it failed to fire, lost a moment

David Hild and Kathy Carbone suggested I send it in and sent prepaid UPS label!  Bless them

This is third try- hope it gets fixed- but again, thank you all for the input-

The pics are amazing- I'll post some on the proper site if I am able!

Are you pressing it straight down? Or putting your finger on the side at a weird angle?

if you press it here it won’t register the press. It’ll fail every time if you press it there. Sometimes when moving the camera I do it unintentionally.

your finger should be completely on the button

if it is then it has an issue

@lanetomlane it’s already been removed, stated in a previous post.

Strange for a "hardware" shutter release of Leica M.

Maybe in new M the shutter release is electrical or electronic *, I don't know.

False contacts then.

* maybe the case as not releasing when off.

Thanks again for all the insights and input. I shot my 2 M6’s for probably 15 years and always had shutter buttons screwed in- not the “softie” ones- just whatever was sold for M6’s back in the day- documentary work, 20+ developing nations- never had an issue (oh yea- just ordered another M6!). Leica New Jersey has my M10R. I’ll see what they do this third time. I can’t imagine  misplace my finder relative to the shutter- and have considered that- but when it got stuck on this last shoot,  realigned my finger three times before I got it to finally fire- love the camera! We will get this worked out! Thanks again y’all!
