Advertisement Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 Hi rollsman4, Take a look here Sigma 65mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens for Leica L Reviews. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jdlaing Posted September 5, 2022 Share #2 Posted September 5, 2022 Every one of the DG DN lenses are excellent.
FrankX Posted September 5, 2022 Share #3 Posted September 5, 2022 The 65 mm DG DN is probably one of Sigma's best lenses! See e. g. the video below. In my opinion, the only drawback may be the AF speed (Not bad, but Panasonic lenses are typically significantly quicker). gotium Posted September 25, 2022 Share #4 Posted September 25, 2022 Holy smokes this is a great lens. On the Sigma fp, at least.
threeseed Posted October 2, 2022 Share #5 Posted October 2, 2022 I do wonder how much of the issues with the Voigtlander on his L mount is to do with the sensor thickness.
Stuart Richardson Posted October 15, 2022 Share #6 Posted October 15, 2022 (edited) I think it is very likely that. It looks just like off-axis softening that one sees in otherwise excellent M lenses on adapted cameras, such as the 50mm 1.4 Summilux ASPH or 75mm APO Summicron. They are not nearly as bad as the wide angle lenses, but they are still diminished enough in performance that they turn from elite lenses to average or poor ones in the corner. The Sigma is a fantastic lens, no doubt, but in most cases a native mount lens is going to work better than an adapted M lens. GLAUMAX Posted December 30, 2022 Share #7 Posted December 30, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) This lens is truly fantastic on my SL2S. It is a true bargain.
huwm Posted January 1, 2023 Share #8 Posted January 1, 2023 Swapped for the 85 Art, not really that much bigger and heavier, for me it seems very well balanced and is better performer. It is also properly weather sealed which is important here in wet Wales
northernlights Posted January 2, 2023 Share #9 Posted January 2, 2023 i just bought a used Sigma 65mm f2 DG DN contemporary today, to be used on my SL (601). it’s my only AF lens. All my other lenses are M lenses and one other L- mount, the 7 Artisans 35 f5.6 pancake is a manual focus lens. So to have AF is a nice, added feature. I have used and sold the venerable Leica 24-90 that weighed 1kg over. I set certain expectations. It’s a Sigma and I paid Sigma price and also bought used. I didn’t pay with an arm or leg (as with my 50 APO M and 21 Lux asph M). So I shan’t compare. Am excited to try out soon.

Mounted on the 835g SL2 the 85mm feels just right, on the 714g S5 it doesn't, reinforcing the fact that 'for me' the SL2 ergonomics are way superior.
