Faces and people at Ultra-Festival- Miami

After weeks of preparation, the famous annual Ultra-Festival finally took place in Miami, with hundreds of thousands visitors coming from all over the world. (0ver a million according to some estimates)

It was a lot of fun to walk around and shoot some interesting and colorful people. ;)

There are more explicit shots that I preferred to not  post here, but you are welcome to visit my gallery for more pictures.

A few from the beach ... here down under we're enjoying a prolonged summer.

It's enough to walk away a couple of hundred meters along the Dee Why beach and all crowds disappear and you have the beach to yourself.

It was the 11-23mm at f16 and 11mm, no filters. Not as good for flare or tight sunstars as the 21mm f3.4. But wide enough to make this shot work.

I think the photo is nice, but the same circular patterns are obvious when compared to my 23mm f2, but using a filter. If you didn't use a filter then why do these (11-23 23mm f2) have such ugly flare?

It would be interesting to see if the 35mm or 60mm L-mounts exhibited these sun-flares. Those are Leica design and manufacture.

If I'm not mistaken, the 11-23mm, 18-56mm, and 23mm L-mounts are of Japanese manufacture - although I don't know of their design (Leica, Japanese, or a collaboration).

It could be that to keep costs down, sun-flare resistance was one area not quite so robust. Just speculation on my part, as I really don't know why heavy sun-flaring.

I love my 23mm f/2, but the round balls at the end of each sun ray is too ugly. It's more pronounced at obtuse angles, so maybe a result of the magnification of the sensor array being reflected onto the image.

Filling the sky with cranes.  Government offices under expansion just north of the Hebrew University campus in Jerusalem:

The copy above has been shrunk for posting.

For the full resolution version, see https://www.flickr.com/gp/133969392@N05/C62b18   This was 8 shots, portrait orientation.  On the original, stitched in PTGui, I left the ragged edges.

Some fun pics from the Spring snow. This is with the 23mm T.  The CL is pretty good at action too.

I just noticed that the CL 60 Macro can stop all the way down to f/32, so here's what that can get you:

Here's f/8 and a larger distance to the closest blooms

and f/8 but at nearly the closest possible distance:
