Thank you, Louis and yes the decision is quite difficult.  I appreciate your input.

I find the AF with the CL to be much quicker,  IQ may be the same but the ooc jpegs seem to be more warm (which I like), and the built in evf is a real plus. So, perhaps "capturing the moment" is just a bit better.  Otoh, the build does not have the same feel as the T/TL2, and the T/TL2, to my eyes, is just a beautiful piece of sculpture.  (I see myself using either the TL2 or the CL with just AF lenses).

I was going to stick with the TL2 for the above reasons (and thinking that they will do a software update to better the AF), but I'm now thinking I will keep both, use them for awhile, and then sell the one which I do not enjoy as much.

Decisions, decisions.

I’m not sure about the TL2 now, but withe the CL the 35mm 1.4 seems lighting fast to focus. And the spot focus is accurate! The one issue I have is that sometimes, because of the small size of the camera, my hand accidentally pushes the direction buttons and moves the point of focus to the side. And the cross indicating the focus point is so small I don’t realize it moved till I try and focus and it focuses on something I don’t expect! Easy enough to correct and not a major problem, but still an irritant.

+1

IMO, it needs either an option for a quick button press to recentre, or (in the CL2) a joystick instead of a direction pad, so you know when your touching it by accident. I don't have the same problem with the SL.

It is an irritation with all touchscreen cameras, whatever brand. The best thing they can have is a reversible screen. ;)

Possibly - I didn't look; but that would turn off the rest of the touch-screen utility as well, I suppose. On this camera it does not bother me too much, as I either use manual focus or multi-point AF.

The complaint was about accidentally moving focus using direction buttons, not the screen. Unless you have selected Touch AF, the touchscreen is inactive in shooting mode, except for swiping gestures, isn't it?

My problem was with the direction buttons. The screen distance from the right edge is fine.

Double tapping the screen will quickly re-centre the focus point.

CL + summarit-M 35 f2.4 — what a lovely small combo

I like how the strong early afternoon light sneaks in through the closed blinds and lingers over the common objects. Always a pleasure to discover it and have a camera handy. CL is so handy.

Another fleeting moment this afternoon with the sun’s last rays finding way through the tree canopy to get me interested again. Always a pleasure to be disturbed by anything like it and have a camera handy.

CL with summarit-M 35 f2.4 ASPH — a wonderfully small combo to have by your side any time.

Beginning to get a sense of the camera's potential. I took it in a small bag when showing off Blackwell House (a beautiful Arts and Crafts house in Cumbria) to friends.  The images are in the Flickr set here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskqxurWB.

CL + Leica 23 f2 Asph. All images processed in Lightroom with some correction of perspective and shadows pulled up.  I'm finding the files to be very resilient and the colour rendering with the new Leica CL profile in LR is excellent.  The CL was a small, light package - and I had it with me.  Better than the M10? More likely to be carried?  I'm really not sure.  An M + 35 cron isn't a big deal weight wise.

I'll keep testing and will share as opportunities arise...

You're lucky - or had special access - I was threatened with being thrown out for using my M in Blackwell House a couple of years ago. Photography (then) was strictly banned. Not that my shots would have been anywhere near as good as yours.
