Thanks for the explanation, Louis.  I think I better understand now what you mean.

As far as flooding goes, I don't see anyone doing that here.  In fact, images (and links) posted by several of the regular forum participants, yourself included, often leave me wanting to see more.

The 55-135 is really great. I finally got one and was happily surprised how sharp it is, although I had a little problem to nail the focus for some shots.

This is from my first walk around and testing the lens.

You're too much into the other birds :-).  But even 'frame-it' seems to have grown tired ... ;-)

Very nice shots of what looks like a warm and friendly gathering!

Indeed, it was.  Cooking for a dozen or so students and postdocs and professors saves a lot of money over restaurant fare as well.  Here are two more (I don't think we're flooded now, at the end of summer):

when I first looked at these, I just assumed they were taken with the SL and one of its terrific zooms. Great "pop", color, detail.

:D

What you did here and what our friend Vikas did ( by theme) is exactly what I was talking about. Posting several shots with links in the same post is a good solution, IMHO! ;)

I must confess that I struggle to see the advantage of a single post with a series of photographs over a series of posts with single photographs.

Although you asked us to make any discussion in another forum, as you are asking me a question here, I hope you don’t mind me responding here.

The main issue for me was how fast each page gets full, and therefore, how fast we jump to a new page (without having time to fully see the posted shots ). Often, when I don’t have time to check a page several times a day, I miss shots that I consider inspiring (at least for me).

As pages end after 20 posts and then jump to a new page, it is, for instence, obvious that if I have 5 posts in one page, instead of one post with 5 shots, the page ends much faster and goes to a new page! :)

My apologies for my bad English.

Window and Phone Box
Peel, Isle of Man 2018
Leica CL + Elmarit-R 28mm f/2.8

This morning at the Peel breakwater, it was soft and drizzly, blowy, and I had problems getting the focus correct. I realized, after looking at the exposures I made, that the soft focus was actually part of what I was seeing ... Not exactly what I wanted, but eh? It works in a fashion. I do want to head back there tomorrow and get something a bit more sharp ... and the light will likely be entirely different.

Ach, just one more full day on the Island and then off to England! I love this place.

enjoy!

I must confess that I struggle to see the advantage of a single post with a series of photographs over a series of posts with single photographs.

It keeps them together, and since you can most easily do that by posting with links to Flickr or similar, it doesn't add to the calculated length of the page, so you get more than 20 entries before breaking to the next page.

And people who add likes need only do it once.  Of course they then can't like the ones they liked most and leave unappreciated the ones they liked the least.
