Advertisement Posted August 3, 2022 Posted August 3, 2022 Hi Bobby, Take a look here Peak Design quick release does not fit. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ianforber Posted August 3, 2022 Share #2 Posted August 3, 2022 Yes. And my fingers and thumbs are still sore! Took time and effort. I think some people use dental floss looped through the anchor to pull them through the lugs. I just bit down on the end of the anchor loop to compress it and then pushed it hard to get enough through the lug to let me pull it. 15 minutes of my life I won’t get back and I’m still not sure whether to use a strap with PD connectors or revert to an old style split ring strap
Jeff S Posted August 3, 2022 Share #3 Posted August 3, 2022 I don’t own the M11, but maybe you can find a set of the version 3 anchors, with thinner straps (but use at your own risk)… https://m.dpreview.com/news/0303883162/peak-design-anchor-connector-issue-replacements Jeff
SrMi Posted August 3, 2022 Share #4 Posted August 3, 2022 Get a fishing line and 14 minutes ago, Bobby said: Has anyone been able to fit PD quick release? It seems too thick to go through. It is possible with the help of a fishing line.
Stef63 Posted August 3, 2022 Share #5 Posted August 3, 2022 (edited) Ultra strong and very thin fish line is your answer. Loop it through the anchor and pull it hard through the lugs. Half a minute and you are done. Have them on my M10M and M11 and they work like a charm. @SrMi was 30” faster Edited August 3, 2022 by Stef63 3

Dental floss, fishing line or something similar. Make a loop and push it though lugs, attach PD quick release and pull through. Alternatively use some 10mm key rings and attach to those. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Uniclife-Small-Split-Crafts-Organization/dp/B094HQP4SB/ref=asc_df_B094HQP4SB/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=538679772688&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2682341710121223603&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007338&hvtargid=pla-1409382664683&psc=1 Edited August 3, 2022 by OThomas
MrPaulK Posted August 4, 2022 Share #7 Posted August 4, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some peak design stuff comes with small metal rings. I’ve tried dental floss, and it worked, but the “discs” rub the camera. With the metal rings, the discs end up higher than the camera. It doesn’t *appear* that the rings will rub the body normally. YMMV
insomnia Posted August 4, 2022 Share #8 Posted August 4, 2022 I compressed it with pliars and got it in, but removed it immediately as the plastic of the quick-release will get in contact with the body. Also I've found it to be not pleasing aesthetically on the M, whereas with the SL2-S I don't care.

I fitted mine to the M11 and the Q2, admittedly with some difficulty. Not fitted directly to the lug, but using a small snap ring between the lug and the PD quick release. PhongNguyen0196 Posted August 8, 2022 Share #10 Posted August 8, 2022 Dental floss is the way to go. One quick pull and it will go through with no problem, no sore fingers, no black nails.

TommyB Posted August 9, 2022 Share #12 Posted August 9, 2022 I had the same issue on the Q2M but needle-nose pliers and a dental pick solved the issue.
Stephen.s1 Posted January 15, 2023 Share #13 Posted January 15, 2023 I've always used Kevlar string. It's impossible to break. Wrap the end of the string around your pocket knife (blade folded) and pull... M 10P, M10M and Q2 are so equipped. About 60 seconds per camera. DBounce Posted September 2, 2023 Share #17 Posted September 2, 2023 (edited) All those solutions rub the body. Straps inevitably contact the camera body. Which is why I purchased the baseplate, thumb rest and finger loop. Which honestly, is a lovely way to use the camera. And putting the camera in a bag between shots is much faster. This solves the rubbing issue and it lets me enjoy my peak design straps/leashes. Just got back from a 10 day trip to Bali and no issues with rubbing/abrasion on the M11. Not a perfect solution, but in general happy with it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XGDPVDT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=
