The Leica M11 has been on the market for a few months now and has already received several function enhancements via firmware update (currently firmware 1.4).

Leica would now like to know how satisfied Leica M11 owners are with the camera and the current range of functions.

» Customer satisfaction survey Leica M11 owners

The survey has 17 questions that can be answered in 5-10 minutes

Thank you very much for your support!

» Take the survey

Update 28. Juni 2022:

The survey is now closed…

Just took the survey. very thoughtful questions. thank you

Questions are good. I found myself duplicating some of the answers (e.g. want IBIS, better ISO performance - that would show up as 'what's missing' and also 'what we want next'?)

Sorry but could not do the survey because New Zealand was not included in the list of countries eligible to participate. 😥

There is an "Other country (please specify)" entry.

You can add your own country manually.

Thanks I won't bother looking at it then.

Only 27 countries are included in the pop-up field. For all other countries, you can type it yourself in the 'Other Country (please specify)' field

I took the survey, thank you. Would it be possible to share a summary of your findings after the survey is closed? I am curious to see what other M11 owners think and how that compares to my answers.

I chose to skip the M11 and wait for the P/D/R/...  Hence I do not qualify to respond to the survey.  If I were Leica I'd probably be more interested to hear from people who *didn't* buy?

I would gladly participate in that survey.

How would people who didn't buy - be able to say if they are satisfied with their M11?

Its like asking a guest in the restaurant, who choose to eat fish "How was the steak?" ;)

But yes, I hope they also read the reasons (complains) why people do not buy the M11

Well, if you take the pool of potential Leica buyers, then ask the smaller part of that pool what they want in a future M camera, you’re refining you product planning to an even smaller sample.  You’re effectively saying there’s no going back from what we decided for the M11.

How would that have worked if Leica had followed a similar approach with the M5? (No Canada made M4 re-boot and the end of the M camera altogether) Or after the M(240)? (No M10).

It’s one thing to seek the opinions of M11 owners, but quite another not to seek the opinions of existing M owners who opted out of the M11.  For some, that simply compounds what could be a self-limiting mistake.  For many the M11 is a significant departure from the traditional M paradigm - it’s the camera technology said they could make rather than the camera that was needed …

Just my uninvited view.

I fully agree that it makes sense to look for feedback from the whole pool of potential (and existing) M customers.

I just think it is a different survey than a M11 satisfaction (or not) survey. I hope they collect information in this direction as well.

Your last point has been repeated very often in this forum from some people - so Leica do not need a survey to realize this point.

Personally I find the M11 is living the traditional M idea - a spontaneous, compact camera with manual controls, which should not stay in the way between the photographer and the subject. For me the more reliable exp metering, the long lasting battery (you really do not have to think about the battery load), the improved EVF with reduced shutter delay in live view mode(for those times when I do not shoot in the 28-75mm range) make it an even better tool for me. But I can also understand that some people miss the bottom plate or do not like the shutter sound.(I got used to it-but yes, I also preferred the shutter sound of the M10r)
