Thanks, Paul. I've done plenty of Fujifilm firmware updates over the years. They constantly offer firmware fixes on most of their camera & lens. Fujifilm does not add instructions/release notes, they just send the file update. This is from the Leica site:

Leica Q2 Firmware update 4.0    "Format PDF (1.52 MB)"

I don't see  'Q2___40_.lfu' embedded in the instructions which is why I was asking for assistance.

I don't know if you noticed (I don't even know if the camera was doing it already with the previous update): when using the camera to record video, using one of the crop (35, 50 or 75mm) the camera will actually show full screen the crop. Is it a new feature?

While in photo mode, it keeps showing the frame lines on the same view as the 28mm.

It did that before the update. Crop in video mode fills the EVF/LCD.

HIGHLIGHT-WEIGHTED exposure metering  seems not to work on my Q2M. I shoot raw and when I set the camera to full auto or auto-iso there is NO difference between multi field and highlight weighted exposure. This is an interior scene with an outside window, where the window is mostly blown out in both metering modes.

When I use the remote through Leica Fotos and the camera is set at highlight weighted, it does not show up any exposure metering. When the camera is at any other metering mode, it does show the 'old' metering modes but highlight weighted is not a choice.

Same issue on the M11. Leica is aware of the issue and working on a fix. I guess they rolled out the same flawed metering mode on the Q2/Q2M even though they were aware of the issue on the M11 beforehand. You should contact Leica and let them know the same issue exists on the Q2/Q2M just in case.

Hello, everyone

After the firmware update of my Q2M, I chose traditional Chinese language setting as what I did before.

When I choose "video mode" in the status screen, then I click video stabilization icon to choose between on and off to test that function.

I couldn't click back to "photo mode" in the status screen after that specific move. Is that a bug?

I have to load the default profile setting again, then everything goes to normal. But when I tried that specific test move again, I have to load the default profile setting again to go back to photo mode status setting. Did someone come across that bug after the firmware update?

What about us Leica 'Q' users!!! 🙄

Right!
I assume that many (or some) of the improvements in firmaware v 4.0 for Q2 could be implemented in Q.
It would be very important to give confidence to the Q users, that we are many.

No, it's not a pdf! The file name is 'Q2___40_.lfu'
Looks like you downloaded the instructions/release notes!

See the post immediately above yours. You may not have gone far enough down the page.

Thank you kindly, I finally found it. You are right, not far enough down.

  • 2 weeks later...

Did someone notice a performance drop in playback mode? If I recall correctly viewing images after a burst was faster before. I am using the same card as with the previous firmware, the SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 GB UHS-I v30. Might just update that but for now it left me wondering.
