I just had to get one as soon as I could.  It was nice, note I said "was".  It is gone, and I am back with my trusty M9 again.  A friend who wanted one no matter what, made me that famous offer one just could not refuse, so I sold it to him.  I am happy and so is he.

I've had a black M11 on order, with dealer deposit, since it was announced with no sign of it arriving.  It goes along with my APO 35 lens ordered about 1.5 years ago, with no sign of it arriving.  Perhaps Leica has a new division called "Leica Vaporware".

I have had a black M11 and the Visoflex since mid January when it came out. Very happy with the camera but a bit disappointed in the Visoflex to be honest: still a bit low fi and blurry for my taste. Colour quality, metering and dynamic range big plusses compared to the MP-240 I used previously (and still do)

Whilst I admire the technological advances of the M11, the M10R has really hit the sweet spot for me. Shooting manually and never using the light meter, the ‘improved’ metering pattern/s and and open shutter on the M11 appear to be superfluous and slow down the reaction time in the way I use an M.

I do however like the improved battery life!

I have an M6, M9 and M10 and 5 lenses. I will not buy the M11 for those different reasons:

- too expensive compare to the M10 I bought in 2017 for "only" 6'500€

- my M9 cannot be repaired anymore, although the CCD was changed for a new one in 2015 together with the change of the LCD for a saphir one. The CCD presents very small dots but cannot be changed even if I pay for it. This means I have to put it on a shelf very soon.

- therefore I hesitate to invest in a M11 if it cannot be properly maintained in 10 years.

I understand that any equipment has a limited existence and I accept this for a cheap hardware but Leica has another image in my mind and I am afraid I lost trust in my favorite brand. I already had a big trouble when the R8 was stopped without any possibility to use my 9 lenses on a full frame DSLR because the R10 never came out.  I did not want the EVF of the SL and I had to sell my 9 lenses from fish-eye to 280mm.

I got my M11 a couple of weeks ago having sold my nearly new M10P and have found the M11 to be amazing,

I'd been a happy M9 user for 12 years coming from film M's but found the M9's low light capabilities to be challenging and the discrete mode freeze ups infuriating so finally went for the very sexy M10P but was pretty disappointed by the image quality, lack of image micro detail or what some folks call POP that you so often got with the M9. The M11 has that in spades. The bigger battery also means you can leave the M11 on so there is no wake up lag just like the M9, where as M10P felt like it took for ever.

Placed my order on Jan 13 and have not heard a word from my dealer. Could be 2 days or 2 years. Since then, I have bought 2 M lenses at prices I could not refuse. Don't know if I can afford the M11 plus Visoflex plus Grip plus battery now.

The Leica dealer here is like the Ferrari dealer; I keep hearing that hellish voice say:"You will do anything??? Ha! Ha! Ha!"

Here in the UK I got my M11 in a week direct from Leica, just went online and showed interest in wanting one and got an offer of one almost immediately. I made a mistake in confirming payment and lost the one that was available then dealt direct with Leica to order one from Germany which took 4 days to arrive here in London

This is quite the M11 owners love fest. I don't share your opinions. I think it was a Leica misstep not using a modern stacked sensor. As a result the M11 now has a louder double action shutter, or one can choose the artifact-prone electronic shutter. Also, shutter shock with 50mm+ focal lengths stills concerns me. I've read the Reid Report M11 technical tests. I'll wait for the M12 or if Leica steps up with improvements sooner, the M11-P.  If I wanted a color M right now I would choose a M10-R.

Coming from using the M10P the M11 shutter is so very very similar in sound, yes the first time you turn on/wake there is a faint sound but leave the camera on and that's not an issue.

Because Paul the M11 lacks electronic first curtain shutter (EFCS) which is universally employed by other camera makers to eliminate the double action shutter that causes shutter shock.

Thanks Erfahrener for explaining. I haven't noticed it make a difference so far as the iso range is good i haven't need shoot slow shutter (i'm coming from 12 years with an M9 😉)

I am actively using my M240, CL2, SL2,  Hasselblad X1D II 50c, Canon 5DSR; (+ a ton of great lenses & adapters) for outdoor handheld  and studio work. Am starting to feel some duplicity in quantity but appreciate the quality subtleties Leica & Hass. color spaces offer. Are there any M11 users out there that can provide compelling arguments why this latest M series addition would enhance my shooting experience?
