For both, i love it being screenless, well i m used to film M, using the M10D just gives me the exact feelings

without the screen i couldnt be anymore careless banging the camera, but this would only suit my streetphoto lust

i regrettably sold mine a couple years ago, to fund another film camera, while retaining the safari, which since had been replaced by the black paint m10r

my point is, you can happily keep it alongside your M11

I keep the M10-R black paint, purely because its a black paint, but everyone has their perspectives

i couldnt agree more with you, i use the M11 for its battery and usb c, i have the silver ones, so weights not a concerned for me, i prefer brass, i have enough with aluminum during my days with Q and SL

blackpaint when i have my pleasure time, like cuban cigar, everything else, here comes the m11 😂

thank you, yeah makes sense. Mine has had the paint chip off in a place, so just thinking that better sell now while it is still in demand (and to finance other stuff). I used to have many M bodies, nowadays I find that one colour, one mono one film is already plenty (for me)

Slightly off-topic: I’m considering to switch from a M240 to a M10-R. How will a 50 Summicron Type 5 perform on the higher resolution sensor? It’s currently not in my budget to look at a Leica APO lens. I do own a VM 90 2.8 APO and a VM 28 f2, wondering how those will perform too.
Thanks for your help!

Every lenses that perform good on previous generations would deliver well on M11, well at least within the 50 mm focal lengths

the only caveat is noctilux 0.95 which i notice exaggerate the purple fringe, lucky just to spend extra seconds to fix in LR

The new OVF has a higher resolution on the M11 compared to the same OVF on the 10-models.

The M10 and M11 share OVF specs with same .73x magnification, diameter and eye relief.  Don’t know what you mean by higher resolution, as the design wasn’t changed.

If its about the Visoflex2 on an M11 or the same Visoflex2 on a 10-model then its not the same resolution. That would be an argument for getting the M11.

That’s an EVF, not the OVF.🤪

That’s M 101.

I decided to skip the M11 and to replace my M10 with an M10-R BP. Thus, my black chrome M10-R has a BP sibling and I will sell my M10.

Maybe the M12 will provide a more convincing update… 😉

The main reason why I did not go for an M11:

I was always happy with my M10-R.

IMHO, the 40 MP sensor of the M10-R seems to be the sweet spot for combining pixel clarity, high iso capabilities and resolution whereas 60 MP would be an overkill for me.

Another minor point is the simplicity of the shutter - and the shutter noise.

And on top, the BP looks great. Even better than expected. 🙂
