Only relaying this from a video I saw on Youtube so that the powers that be can get it fixed.

Someone reported that if the shutter speed dial is accidentally sitting between two speeds, the camera will default to 5s.

A simple firmware update could fix this so that a non-selected shutter speed defaults to the last selected speed.

This was already reported. Can anyone reproduce it? I cannot.

We've always been able to select half stops on the shutter dial. This hasn't changed with my M11

The issue is supposed to appear if you set the shutter speed between two "clicks", e.g., between 1000 and 1500.

got it.

There seems to be a quite a few first time M owners out there. Bravo to Leica and yet the engineers must be going nuts wondering what sort of torture tests these newbies will come up with next.😀

@kwesi I am very far from being a newbie.  And I don’t yet own the M11.  I am only passing on something I witnessed in the hope it might help.  I don’t have time to read every post on this forum.  I hope your post made you feel better.  But I see it as being pretty immature.

I can't reproduce this. My M11 does what you suggest. Uses the last *clicked* shutter speed.

This isn't something I think I've ever done accidentally, ever. The shutter speed dial wants to move to a clicked position. I had to set it inbetween clicks quite deliberately to test.

Paulsysydaus, I apologize for upsetting you. My response was never directed at you. you made it quite clear that you were just passing on information.

I also do not feel that @Kwesiaddressed the comment to you but to whoever posted it on YouTube.

I am getting a bug when I return the shutter speed dial to A (Aperture priority) it stays on M (Manual) at 4000.  It does not do this from the other direction (low shutter speeds). So I have to go past A in that direction and then reverse to make sure it is on Aperture priority.   It is super irritating as the manual states "The shutter speed setting dial has no stop, which means it can be turned in either direction from any position. It will click at each en- graved position and for intermediate values."

This is a one day old camera.  Return it?

all the 1/2 stop clicks work as the should on my camera as well....even sitting between these half speeds there is no issue.

Except between 1/2000s and 1/3000s where the camera defauts to 6 seconds for me. I can reproduce the bug at will.
