Here we are perched on a knife edge of possible nuclear holocaust and people are whinging about the cost of a camera!

What is the complaint? Leicas will be valuable bartering items in a post-apocalyptic world.

Well then you better start running for your life right now.

Edit: We’ve been a lot closer in the past to be clear.

So, if you peruse the new sub forum thoroughly, you can see complaints about:

annoying always-on live view shutter mode

shutter noise, clunk upon turning on

shutter open all the time gathering dust

function buttons failing intermittently

camera freezing without a clue as to why

the thin sensor still not helping with wide lenses in the corners

Sony colors

confusing EVF display implementation

Where is your thread on the running tally of good points of the M-11?

EMP from the NUDETs (nuclear detonations) will render every digital M camera useless that is exposed to it.  Most NUDETs will be triggered at around 1000 feet altitude, so the resulting EMP damage will not be nearly as limited as would be the case in a ground level NUDET.

Before any of that happens, I would fully expect a low orbit NUDET over both Europe and the continental U.S. to render all but the most hardened electronics useless.

If that happens, welcome back to the early 1800s.  Blacksmithing, cow milking and hog butchering will be the premiere skills in demand.

I would really like it if we could go back to bashing M11.

Indeed, their built like a tank body will be useful if things devolve into hand to hand combat. That said, I think the slightly weightier 10-R or better yet a 240, would be preferable for that sort of work.

Bruce Lee made a movie titled Fists of Fury.  We could make a short called Cameras of Fury, using a pair of M240s as weapons instead of nunchakus.

And yes, @SrMi you are absolutely right - we should get back on task and resume bashing the "useless" M11. 😅

I am prepared as I got the heavier (silver) one. Need to modify the battery eject mechanism so that I can use the batteries as projectiles. I need more batteries.

Yes we can! Reid just published a new test about vignetting and on and off centre sharpness of the two recent APO’s 35 on M10M, M10R and M11. Shocking results…. 😉

I wouldn't say chocking, but rather interesting. And a bit nerdy as well.

I'm looking forward to a firmware update of the M11 so we can see the actual image quality, color drift and occasional glitches removed.
