So far this image + David Farkas & Jono’s images in their respective reviews, are by far the best I’ve seen in terms of showcasing the output of M11 sensor.  

Favourably impressed. Seriously considering returning to the M fold ( currently SL2 / Q2 shooter ).

All the pictures I have seen from the M11 so far have beautiful and natural colors!

It seems that Leica has done something right with the new sensor.

I am having major PP issues with C1 for the moment. Also I set the EVF wrong and as such used Topaz Sharpen. All this amounts to yuk! Next only RF and no EVF trials.

I see “micro contrast” that knocks it out of the park in the pictures at 46:20 and 53:52 of the event that Andreas attended.

I found post 101-nr 3 ‘horrible’. What happened there? I suggest you choose another profile may I suggest Panasonic S1_generic? C1 is seen as anti-Leica, but I expect not so much they make portraits, even cropped, into paper dolls. It looks like the worst from a phone.  I stay flabbergasted   🤐

Tonal range and highlight treatment seem to be its strength. But there are probably trade-offs. Still, impressive sensor under certain conditions.

Also nr 2 of said post does not look promising. The surface of the timber plank and the pole remind me of the performance of my old compact camera. I hope this is only an issue resulting from downsizing for the forum.

So far a lot of noisy and motion blurry shots (i'm guessing from camera shake). Noticed this from the full res files images posted elsewhere too. Not seeing a lot to make we want to "upgrade".

User errors no doubt.

Look at Athorntons "sunscape" quoted immediately above - and then remember that a camera is just as good as the best work ever done with it - not the worst that an incompetent can achieve.

@jonoslack these are beautiful. And that 35 apo renders in an uncanny way.  How close to these do you think you could have got using a standard summicron asph?

‘Close’ as in similar rendering, not distance. I’m mainly referring to the tree shots.

I don't have the standard summicron, but I imagine it would do just as good a job - I don't think flare is so much of an issue if you actually shoot the sun! The M11 handles the extreme dynamic range really well, I guess that was what I was trying to show

I think that's tricky in this day and age. Especially when the children find out later that.....
