elmars Posted December 6, 2021 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) M11 without baseplate is a no go for me. It means there is no plastic covering to protect the surface. There will be scratches. I don´t want that. 2 1

grahamc Posted December 6, 2021 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2021 You haven't heard the rumour of the top-plate function button ? It puts the plastic on or off depending on how pedantic you would like to appear on any given day. Genius really 1

evikne Posted December 6, 2021 Share #5 Posted December 6, 2021 Another bad thing with a fixed baseplate is that you cannot put the camera in a half case without the base plate and almost retain the original wide form factor. With a baseplate in a half case the camera looks almost square, and I hate that look. 😄

I don't think so. The half cases that were made for use without baseplate had no extra thickness, so the camera + halfcase got lower. With a fixed baseplate this will not be possible anymore. sebben Posted December 6, 2021 Share #12 Posted December 6, 2021 (edited) And to make matters worse: While changing batteries whilst using a tripod you won’t be forced to remove the tripod plate before you take off the baseplate. 😱 Efficiency will be the down fall of modern photography Edited December 6, 2021 by sebben

nwphil Posted December 6, 2021 Share #20 Posted December 6, 2021 Maybe they will end making a M11-D version, but instead of an advance lever, a "fake" bottom plate that reveals the usb port , meaning keeping the new battery and sd card access design
