The centre is stunning, the corners not, but you don't look at the corners. If you stop it down you lose the unique look (IMHO). Head and heart choices... I do have the Matte Edition 28mm Summicron so it's not like I need another 28mm really. More to make the camera tiny, but I have some great pics from when I had the Summaron so I hope the TTArtisan is good too. At some point I want to try the Avenon/Kobalux 28mm, and the GR 28mm. I’m not commenting on the performance or quality of the lens, not having one I wouldn’t know. But the rendering I’m seeing here is quite different to the Summaron. The aperture is a little fiddly but it would be a lens I wouldn't fiddle with too much. After a few months I noticed the black paint version was getting sold, so I finally bought one. It helped to have a $50 Amazon gift card I had no clue what to use on! It'll be a great lens to throw into a tiny pocket on my sling, just in case I need something wider to walk around with. Exactly what Marke does in his article across a range of subjects and apertures and looks at the standard centre, corner and edge trio.
