May I say it, despite my love for Leica? Canon R6 and kit zoom 24-105 f/4-7.1. The images are both sharp and smooth. Very good macro, excellent IBIS and autofocus, good color in JPG and CR3 (although there is a difference). I was running a risk, but I still  own good Canon EF lenses, so the solution was obvious - for me. The weight of the combo is quite comfortable.

Do you have also the RF 50 1.8? It seems very travel friendly regarding size and weight.. don't know the quality.. watching youtube even the S5 seems to be heaven but as you wrote is not

I have the EF 50 1.4, so no need so far, I am no 50 mm shooter, so I cannot tell. I had trouble deciding whether to purchase the RF 35 mm f 1.8, so comfortable on the body, but went for the 24-105 f/4-7.1 zoom because of its versatility and did not regret it. I may have been too harsh about the S5, the files I saved at least looked pretty sharp and natural. But somehow I could not bond with the camera. I still love the R6 for what it does. More resolution would have been fine, but there is something special about this camera.

Meanwhile, in Nikonland...

This looks like a promising system. Love the retro look. The price is not high. Nikons have a very thin sensor stack that plays nice with M mount, and as a bonus you can autofocus M lenses via an adapter.

As a former FE2 user, I like the design a lot. As a current CL user, I can't see anything (important to me) that this Nikon does better than the 2017 CL. Probably an unfair comparison anyway given their price difference.

I have interest in the CL, I hear about a new CL-2, I suppose no one here has any clue or insight when it will appear but thought I’d ask.

I suppose it would be all over the internet of there was insight

Correct. Why not look for a discounted current model. John Lewis had a lot at a generous discount recently.. Search for a recent discussion. The prospect of a CL2 is unclear and should not diminish the operational value of the current model, which is a bargain in some places.

This past Friday I decided to step back in time with Nikon, buying a new Df from B&H to use with the AIS manual focus set I’ve been shooting with a Sover Wong-serviced F2AS, including the 20mm f2.8, 35mm f1.4, 85mm f1.4 and 180mm f2.8 ED.

Very nice. I sold my F2AS and F2A for a Pentax 67Ii many years ago. I miss them often. Perfect cameras.

Just an update if anyone is interested in upgrading your APSC leica.. I found a good deal on a used CL with a 18mm (maybe a "starter bundle").

Not hard tested yet because I have to learn as the interface is very different comparing to my T but very happy with the spec bump and the viewfinder!

I'm considering selling the T+18 and keep the CL with the 23mm but the T+18 is so comfortable and small! hard choice!

If you considered upgrading like me I definitely recommended if you can get a good price deal.. instead just wait for a CL2! :)
