The Summilux-M 1:1.4/50 ASPH (the only Karbe lens I have) pre-dates even the M8 so is definitely a film-era lens.  Having said that, it produces excellent results on any of the digital cameras I used it with but it was only when I decided to dust off my 60-year-old M3 and put some rolls of film through that I discovered how this lens absolutely sings on film.  What is particularly evident when comparing it with results from another Summilux (the Summilux-R 50 type 1, designed in 1967) is how evenly it draws across the field at wide apertures.

Another example from the same series.  Lens set at f/2.8 and now more or less welded onto the M3.

Summilux-M 50 ASPH @ f/1.4 on an M3 with Fuji Superia 400 in very dim light.  Coaxing an image from a 60-year-old camera of a 110-year-old Brinsmead being taught to sing in tune.

My iMac reports these have the Adobe RGB (1998) profile embedded.  Have you tried exporting with sRGB profile?  When a file is uploaded, the system appears to make two copies:  one with "thumb" in the filename for display in the thread and a larger version for display full-screen.  It is possible that the software that makes the copies is struggling with the wider gamut of the AdobeRGB (as a guess for what is happening).  This may have changed in the system upgrade.

Hey Steven, comparing the images posted in this thread with the same images in your Instagram account, some of those presented here suffer saturation and brightness. Did you make any changes? Anyway, a great series, especially when viewing it in Instagram, together with the videos. Just excellent ! Reportage at it`s best !
