Picture was taken at the Malden, MA Veterans Day Parade of a Fifer from the William Diamond Fife and Drum Corp. Leica TL2+ Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm at f/4.5, 90mm (133mm  35mm equiv), 1/500s, ISO 100. Love the color of her eye glass frames.

This is my first go manually focusing the Voitglander 40 1.4 Nokton on the T.  It wasn't easy.  The shimmy in the VF I've seen mentioned here I'm not sure I am actually recognising that one when/if it happens.

I'm really in mixed minds as to whether i keep this camera, the AF is painful and I'm too impatient to be a manual focus shooter.  Will know more in a week I suppose when Clooney comes out - if I can afford it.  Maybe the TL2 would work better for me if I can't afford the Clooney. I'd like to sell off the Sony and just have 1 small compact system that fits in 1 bag. But i need to be able to grab a quick AF shot of my son with it.

Anyhoo here's a few shots from the Polish Festival held in Melbourne this last weekend.

Amanda,

The images look quite nice.

MF is particularly difficult without the viewfinder;  I really prefer AF lenses on the T anyhow.  The TL2 is a definite improvement, but the viewfinder again is quite necessary, particularly outdoors in the sun.  And, I'm not in love with the visoflex after using the evf on the Q and SL, which are substantially better.

If the Clooney has an improved EVF and equal or faster AF I'll probably purchase it.

Hi Rob I somehow missed seeing your reply.

I'd say I'll be buying one and ditching all the other stuff I have - as long as the AF is good!

Louis, I almost always greet the little critters before I shoot a picture, and always say "thank you" afterwards.  It makes a difference!  ;)

Seriously, I think they are smart enough to understand intent, and some of them can be surprisingly confiding once they sense that I'm not a predator.  The one in the photo above never moved even when I came within a meter while passing by it.

Not quite as lucky with the more skittish one below, who vanished the instant after the shutter clicked . . .
