How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

Gave the M18 SEM a try (using VF 020 to frame things, rangefinder to focus).  My initial ideas was to mimic the 24x66 frame of an XPan by cropping the frame to 2000x5500 pixels, but there is too much interesting stuff above and below that strip.

Desert rain at sunset, about five minutes from my house.  In hindsight, I used too shallow a DOF at f3.5 on my 90mm lens, so the mountains are not quite sharp.  Had I brought my tripod, this mistake wouldn't have happened as I would have set the ISO to 100 and a higher f/stop.  But one of the reasons why I took this picture at all was the ease of jumping in the car with a small bag and getting there (I was debating leaving the house or not...), and the freedom of movement with less equipment.

An old man walks his bike along the groin near Bathers Beach in Fremantle, Western Australia. Taken with the Tri-Elmar 16-18-21 @ 16mm. the lens flare on the brim of his hat really helps to sell the heat of the day.
