Great, I paid $49 last week

Bummer.  Not sure how that works with in app purchases, but I know Apple is pretty good about giving refunds if you are unhappy with an actual app purchase.  $49 is worth an Apple chat session.

Great.  Uploaded 2.2 (new version of the plain app) on my iPad Pro.  Connected to my SL2 on second try without much hassle.  Shot some desktop stuff without problems using remote and touch AF.  Uploaded the 80 MB DNG (!) in under a minute:  Bugs remain --

apertures are still recorded wrong 2.0 becomes 2.1, 4.0 becomes 4.1, etc (annoying, but not fatal)

second card slot still not recognized (warning, not fatal)

setting drive to continuous low speed still just produces a single exposure, not a series.  (Serious flaw.)  Haven't tried video yet

My #1 card has 630 images on it.  And the camera wants to upload them all before doing anything else, blinking steadily.  Shifting into remote takes control away and I could shoot, but the upload is annoying when I just wanted to check the shots just taken. (Serious flaw).

Still, getting Leica to realize that they can't charge for access to Photoshop when no one else does is progress.  My note for the future.  Use this only with a nearly empty card in the camera.

Well, I was looking at an M10-D some time ago; as a starter I downloaded the app from the appstore and when I saw that the app would cost €54 a year I thought, forgetaboutit

That are quite big rammifications of pricestrategies . .

The basic app, which is by far sufficient for the M10-D was always free.

I used the free app frequently with absolutely no problem and find it quite fast (I use for jpegs on l’y). Good with the SL, great with the M10M (much faster).

It suits my needs perfectly to share quickly a few shots per mail before real post-processing on my computer.

I am glad the iPad version is free now.

The app used to cost 54 Euro for the pro version, which was mainly for video use and the integration with LR, but the basic app, which does about everything you really need, was always free.
