As far as I am aware, "made in England" was first used in 1895 (the year that HP sauce was created) ;)

That is correct, although I believe the sauce wasn't marketed as such until 1899. It is now made in The Netherlands.

I think we have all missed a point here, perhaps the missing part of the number could be filled in with HP sauce, (oh sorry, wrong colour).

..at the risk of putting a downer on this thread, the sauce was called HA but part of the label was badly printed..

I suppose Leica could say, "Designed in Germany, assembled in Portugal using foreign parts!

"[...] except for the parts that are made in Germany"
See, it can be slipped in

Millions of people worldwide are sick or dying. The economy everywhere is in a shambles.

Literally millions and millions of people are out of work, no money for food, desperate.

And here we have a thread over 11 pages long about a fraction of a centimeter of missing paint on a tiny dial on a $9,000 camera.

First of all it would not bother me, and maybe some time in the future I might ask to have the dial fixed or replaced. The angst and nonsense about this beggars belief.

I mean just read this thread and think about this in perspective. Jeez Loweez!!☠️🙉

People have been sick and dying since the planet has been invented. No more or less than usual from a variety of illness or malady. That’s in perspective. All having nothing to do with this thread.

The stats would suggest otherwise.

Rigged?  Right.  And the moon landing was faked.

There have been a number of comparisons of average death rates, all of which show that since the beginning of the year, death rates have sky rocketed compared to averages for previous years, for different countries and parts of those countries - even compared to influenza years, the numbers are sobering.

But then, if you don’t trust the numbers, what are you relying on?  It is the totals which are most reliable.

Keep drinking the cool aid.

Senior citizen cocksure into the hospital with a heart attack. Dies of another heart attack. Tests positive for C19. Guess where the death is recorded. It exponential by hundreds of thousands.

I wasn't talking about covid related deaths, JD.  Total deaths, from any cause.

Keep drinking the bleach ... 😀

The whole world is basically wearing masks and office buildings are still largely empty. In London, the Tube is operating at 25% of normal capacity. If death rates are the same level as last year, that’s great.

It’s still exponential. More people. More deaths. It’s nature's way of thinning the herd.

Sorry, I don't get your point (apart from the cool aid reference).  Why is an excess of death rates this year (over previous years) "exponential"?  There are considerably more deaths this year, from any cause, than previous years - this coincides with the covid outbreak.  What's rigged?  Or do you mean that for the rest of the year the numbers will drop below average and by the end of the year, the overall figures will be the same?

Certainly the deaths during the period of the outbreak was exponential, and apparently it is flattening off - but the net result is still horrific.  Do you mean by "nature's way of thinning the herd" that the increase in the people who have died is a good thing (we're all better off without them)?

Back to the missing paint - contrary to what I said earlier, proper advertising might change the "value":)  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Leica-TRI-ELMAR-M1-4-28-35-50mm-ASPH-Boxed-Engraved-Mistake/333137818196?epid=99700451&hash=item4d908fb254:g:fmUAAMXQ-KRRiUQU

Lol. The good news is that the price isn’t $6k or something silly.

Yeah!  But they are often around 25 - 2800 USD in the US!  I might have to watch the site to see if someone actually pays the price for that "rare flaw." ;)  If so, I'll scrape some paint out of the engraving on the one I recently purchased and make some money!  :)

Well, no, not really. :P

Clearly what this corner of the world needs is the return of the Kravitz pre-distressed M.  You wouldn't know if the missing paint was intentional or not. And you wouldn't care either as when you went to resell it, no matter what the paint or leather looked like, it would still be mint. 😉

Oh boy... the worst by far is the M-Kravitz "The drifter"... what a joke! 😂

One takes the average number of people that died year to date, and compare that to the average number of people that have died through the same months in prior years, and if the delta is highly material, which it is as reported by Texas counties, in the absence of a major further explanation, yes, it does point back to COVID-19.  No, it is not just another flu.  No, the ER doctors, nurrses, and physician assistants in Houston and South Texas that are putting their lives on the line every day are not part of a 'deep state hoax' when they report stress and distress.  WTF is so hard to understand about all this?
