scroy Posted April 15, 2020 Share #1  Posted April 15, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looking for some guidance on a repair  I believe I have a sensor problem, but I've not experienced this before. My M10 seems to have a few problems. The untouched JPG is solid green from the camera and histogram in LR is the same regardless of exposure. In LR the image goes to a solid white. Additionally, when the play menu button is engaged only the name of the file comes up. Are there a list of shops which are still taking Leica repairs during the pandemic? Thanks for any guidance. Welcome, dear visitor! Â In the menu system of the Q there is an option for Factory Reset. I don't recall if there is one on my M240. Perhaps it is present in the M10 menu? You could also try a firmware update or reinstall? Pete Edited April 15, 2020 by Stealth3kpl
scroy Posted April 15, 2020 Author Share #8 Â Posted April 15, 2020 Unfortunately, same behavior as before after repairs. I guess I will need to send it in when the factory repair re-opens. Â
Tom Johnston Posted April 15, 2020 Share #9  Posted April 15, 2020 even though they are currently closed due to cv-19, you could send an enquiry and it may be seen by someone working from home, perhaps. it would at least be in line to be seen when they are back  https://us.leica-camera.com/Contact 2
jaapv Posted April 15, 2020 Share #10 Â Posted April 15, 2020 It is more than likely that this is a hardware failure, not necessarily the sensor itself. By all means contact Leica, it must go in for repair.
fotografr Posted April 16, 2020 Share #11  Posted April 16, 2020 I'd suggest contacting Leica AG in Wetzlar rather than the New Jersey facility. Since the Service Centers are closed now it's possible Leica might replace your camera, depending on when it was purchased. Leica Photography Service & Support If you require technical assistance about your Leica product or it requires servicing, repair or spare parts, please contact our professional team who will ensure you get best advice. In addition, where necessary, they will ensure that your Leica product will undergo professional servicing or repair with original Leica spare parts. "We can’t tell for certain what is causing this issue. The camera needs to be checked at our workshop. But due to the corona virus, our workshop is not operating as usual at the moment." ...  Anyway, thank you everyone for your advice. It was very helpful in debugging. jaapv Posted April 17, 2020 Share #20 Â Posted April 17, 2020 Regardless, I would send it in now - even if it takes a while, it will be near the front of the line when things start opening up. You cannot use it like this anyway.
