And I did a quick edit in SFX of a shot taken straight towards the sun, and was surprised to see that only the center of the sun was clipping... Very small highlight touchup was able to get back to something usable..

These two shots are excellent but man oh man they don’t compare to your SL2 shots.

and for the record, I want to move wherever you live so that I can experience these incredible sunset and sunrises! Very jealous.

So I have this silly kind of pattern: unboxing a camera and try to check the rangefinder alignment starting with a selfie. Had nobody else at home anyway, and not even a banana to make a fruit basket.

Got these stupid mirror-selfies with M8.2, M9, M9M, M240, M246, M10, and since yesterday M10M. As time goes by, the sensors are delivering much more details, and of course nobody gets any younger. So I guess it will be the last time I'll do this stupid game 😐

But that file (2000 ISO, 1/90th and f:2.8 with the APO Cron 50, just cropped but untouched for the other settings), really pleased me for the details found in the lowlights. The only clipping highlight is the ring of the Gordy's strap.

Hey, where did you find a left handed camera?

When I first saw this, I thought it was a "detailed" snowwoman. Then I looked closer and realized it's Homer Simpson. In the original file the whites held up very well.

Now the battery has charged it was a case of stick a lens on it and find something in the house to photograph - so here are the first two.  50mm Summilux-M ASPH.  First one is an ooc .jpg imported into LR CC, 'auto' clicked then exported to PS for the size to be set to 2480px and a frame added.  (This PS action applies to all my uploads and as with all uploaded here, best viewed in LightBox).  After that, it was a quick dash to the local Country Park!

Two more from this afternoon, if I may.  First with 50mm Summilux-ASPH, second with 35mm Summaron f2.8  Both with yellow filter.

Some of the best results from the new camera I've seen so far, bravo - and lucky you to live five minutes from Wilton!

Thanks for the comments - appreciated. :)

Actually it is Lydiard Country Park on the west edge of that glorious metropolis also known as Swindon. ;)

A final two (probably) for today.  Both went the 50mm Summilux & yellow filter.

As mentioned above, next was a five minute drive to the local Country Park for an hour's wander around.  First two are same lens etc as above; second two are with my 1967 35mm Summaron f2.8.  Oh, and both had yellow filters.

The camera is a sheer delight to handle and to use - just have to remember there is no need for me on sunny days to walk around with the lens either pointing down or with my hand over it - no need to fear a pinhole being burnt in the shutter! ;)

Wow--what a "local Country Park"!

Looks like you don't need the Hasselblad anymore.  I'd be happy to take it off your hands now that it's junk...  😉

Thanks so much for posting these beautiful photos!
