Will you continue to use the M9M?

Jeff

Yes, I'm looking forward to using them in parallel and probably eventually sell one of them.  I'm absolutely certain I don't need the M10M and I am very nostalgic about the M9M.  We'll see how it goes over the next 6 months.  M10M, with all its improvements, probably will win out but I don't want to pre-judge.  Mainly, I did not want to sell the M9M and regret it later.

Can anything really replace the patina of use, the traces of memory, and that wonderful 18mp CCD sensor? The clunk and the whir, the petite rear screen, that seductively thick body are all irreplaceable. Not to forget those delightfully contemplative moments waiting for that unhurried buffer to clear. Please contact me after six months when you decide to sell the M10M. I'm sure we can agree on a reasonable price.

I'm a good customer at Bergen County Camera and I ordered mine early. I got it toady. It's wonderful. Amazing to be able to buy a black and white camera that is arguably the best camera in the world today.

They are my dealer as well.. big fan.

How early did you order?  I only put my name on list Feb 1, so I'm hoping I'm not too far behind..

As I was out of the country when the M10M was announce (and first delivered), I didn't even find out about the camera until well after the first shipment had been sold out here in Vancouver. When I did find out, I also got info on the first rumours of the 'Wetzlar' addition with the Leitz script on top, so I went to my local dealer to order that. When that camera was officially announced, I was told it was sold out immediately, so changed my order to the regular M10M. A couple of days ago I got a phone call to let me know that they can get the 'Wetzlar' edition, and did I still want that? Yes! So now it seems I'll have to wait until April for that one, but I have waited for over 3 years since I first asked Stefan Daniels when the M10 Monochrom would be available.

A few weeks earlier. Almost as soon as it was mentioned. I think I overheard them saying there were three or four. I also got an SL2 and they know I’m going for the M10R if it comes our. Gulp.

I woke this morning and figured I’d check Leica USA online store for an M10 Monochrom .  Wouldn’t you know it, I had the ability to “add to cart” and I completed the purchase.  I went back to the site and it said “out of stock” again. Slightly skeptical I called at 9am. They informed there was one Monochrom available and I indeed purchased it!  Just got notification for shipping. I’m on the list at Miami and DC! Happy to be, off the list!

If anybody is looking for one, I just picked one up from a friend who used it for 2 days before opting for a m10p..probably has 50 clicks.  It literally just arrived yesterday when my dealer informed me that my allocation is coming in a week so I will have an extra one that I can let go. If interested, ping me. Thanks

I've just had an email from Leica's Online Store UK to say that the M10M is now 'available to purchase'.

Somewhat disbelievingly I followed the links and paid and it's now on it's way to me. I thought it would take weeks or even months, especially if the Corona virus should disrupt parts supply chains. Great news!

Four weeks ago I saw that their website showed availability and emailed them to make sure it really was.  A quick response confirmed it so I swiftly completed the purchase - it was their only one.  I wonder if yours is the first time they have had stock since then.

I have been checking daily for about ten days, but no luck - even a couple of hours ago it was still showing as unavailable. I've been on the list at Mayfair for a couple of weeks and sent the Leica UK website my email address only on Monday. I've no idea if they are the same thing.

I've just checked the website and it's still available and 'add to cart', so maybe they've assembled more than usual in the last few days. Mine should arrive at Leica Mayfair on Tuesday - I haven't been so excited about getting a new camera since my very first Leica!

If you had any more tongue in your cheek you'd look like a chipmunk in an acorn patch.
