Hi Everyone,

I am really enjoying the SL2 , my only suggestion would be to have the option of changing the color of the cross hair of the single point focus. Sometimes it is hard to find the white focus cross hair in the frame if it where a higher visibility color it would make for quicker focusing. Does anyone else find this a problem ?
Thanks All👍

My SL2 was delivered this morning, so I'm having fun setting it up, and comparing it with the SL.

One aspect that I grumbled about with the recent firmware update for the CL that introduced the new touch graphical menu was that one had to press MENU twice to get to the main menu, once to get to the graphical menu, twice to get to Favourites, and then a third time. What I didn't realise till now with the same menu on the SL, is that switching all individual Favourites to OFF means that the Favourites screen is not displayed, giving access to the main menu with just two button presses, not three. Useful!

What about the colour space? Its sRGB only with the SL2 (was it the case on the SL701?)... good thing it is uncompressed however (unlike M10s). Would anyone be interested to be able to toggle between sRGB or full RGB (like my old M9 allowed me to) ?

Why does it matter for color space if the file is uncompressed or lossless compressed? Lossless compressed is typically preferred to uncompressed.
Unless shooting with JPG (where you likely want sRGB), why is it important to you to switch to "full RGB"?
(Some set color space to AdobeRGB to have more accurate histograms)

Not really related, sorry :). It was more about having choices for both.... coming from the M9 which let me select for both for 10 years. I liked having those options especially when retouching on a full 10 bits Adobe RGB screen and juggling files between apps; I had my habits.

True the difference is small between sRGB and RGB, especially when shooting raw and editing in Lightroom but then again, I like having the choices. And yes the Leica M9 histogram function was a masterpiece! - You could review and zoom in with full R G and B showing, not just Luma. Add that to my whish list!

Selected color space does not matter when shooting raw. RGB histogram would be nice, but even nicer would be if it were derived from the RAW and not from the embedded JPEG.

Apologies if this firmware issue has been mentioned already......

I would like to set exposure bracketing AND self timer: I sometimes set the camera up for bracketing on a tripod, and I would like to incorporate a 2 sec delay as well.

The irritating thing is that the Multishot mode allows you to set self timer at the same time.

It’s been mentioned in this thread before but I don’t think I ever saw a solution for it. I shoot MF and use the back button to focus as my standard set up. But there is no option to leave the focus point locked in the center of the frame so I can focus using back button and then re-compose my shot. Instead I constantly find my focus cross hair has moved to the far edge of the screen and half the time I don’t know where it is because being white ( be nice to have option to change cross hair colour to red or black) it often blends into the surroundings of what I’m shooting. Plus it takes time to re-centre in which time I’ve often lost the decisive moment to capture an image. Back button lock doesn’t help as is deactivates the back button focus. Is there a way around this?

The only advice I can give is to reduce accidental focus point movement by disabling Touch AF and Touch AF in EVF

I would like to have an option to prevent shutter activation without a lens attached. That would make the sensor wet-cleaning safer.

Because of IBIS you must have the camera on when wet cleaning the sensor.

How about setting the drive mode to 12 second delay?  That way the shutter will not fire immediately and you get the red light flashing to warn you.

So far I have only used a rocket blower for sensor cleaning.  Are there instructions somewhere for wet cleaning the SL2 sensor?
