The 'eyes' have it . . . SL75mm at f2.0.  Who needs a 10k Noctilux?

In my opinion, your image could benefit from one. What I see is a lot of noise in the background so a few stops faster lens would be great here. I know I am pixel peeking, on purpose, because I found your question rather amusing. Besides I’m not sure where you find a (new) 10K Noctilux. In Sydney, the 75mm Nocti is $19,900 ($15,000 in USA money) and the 50mm Nocti is $18,300 ($14,000 in USA money) 😂 😂 😱

Thanks for your comments and you make a good point, although generally I don’t pixel peep (or peek!).  This photo is straight out of the camera, with no adjustments, and could probably be improved with a little extra work.

As you probably guessed, the Noctilux comment was intended to be humorous, but I would probably have missed the point of focus at f1.25 if I had this lens.  I believe the retail price for the 75mm in the UK is £10,700 but can be bought for £10,250 (or thereabouts) at most Leica dealers.  Not sure how that compares at current FX rates.

Interestingly, the 90mm Summilux is can be bought for less!

I sensed your cheeky sense of humour.

Thanks for your positive comments. In this world I’m even afraid to reply with anything in fear to be viewed as ‘trolling’. I pushed the ‘submit’ button and regretted immediately. I’m glad you didn’t take it like that. There is some sanity in this world, at times 😶🤐

£10,700 is almost exactly the same price A$19,500 in Sydney. Not cheap, eh? I still remember the times any Nocti to be had for $10K or even less.
Happy shooting. I like your cat, but mine grey is nicer 😝

June is Poppy time - so I took my camera bag to a field of poppies I spotted during the day and - at the risk of boring you - will show a shot with each of my SL lenses, starting with the VE 24-90mm

Poppies (2) - SVE 16-35 (which was admittedly the most difficult lens to find an appropriate use case in this scenario, at least for me...)

Poppies (3) - VE 90-280mm (other than the wide angle vario the "easiest" lens to shoot the poppies)

Thank you for these!

Well, I don’t know if it’s the focal length or the f2 but I like this one.  They are all good pictures but because I’ve been toying with the idea of purchasing a Summicron 90 SL, I found this set very interesting.  Do you have any similar close pictures with the Summicron 90SL and the VE 24-90 at 90mm, shot at f4 or close to it?

I also have a grey cat . . . . same camera, same lens.
