Images with Sigma L mount cameras

I use the fp in the plain version, and I am happy. I like small cameras. Perhaps a passed on property, my father carried his LTM Leica in his pocket.

By the way, the missing mechanical shutter is a burden for some people too.

My point was, that you cannot compare Sigma and Darkpower in quality and cost.

Our fire brigade sometimes lights a fire. Taken with a 15 mm at f/2.8.

I also like small cameras, and small lenses, I used to own a CL that I used exclusively with my M lenses. I had hoped Leica would bring out a CL2 but as we all know that didn’t happen. That is what brought me to Sigma. So far the electronic shutter has not been an issue for me. Most of the images that don’t work out for me have nothing to do with the shutter.(lol). The only thing I’m not sure I understand is your“quality and cost” comment. I think the build quality of the Sigma is as good as other brands. The Darkpower accessories are well made using carbon fibre and fit perfectly. The flip screen is solid and robust, it’s constantly going up and down with no problems at all. The grip with the larger battery is better thought out and made than either of the two that Sigma offers. (I have both). Personally I think i’m getting a lot of camera for the money I’ve invested in Sigma.  For me the single biggest benefit is that I’ve been able to customize the camera to the way that works best for me. My biggest hope on the cost side is that Sigma continues to invest time and money on software updates.
all the best

Allan

PS… very nice photo, not an easy shot to get right.

Jane that is a beautiful photo!
You have clearly mastered the FPL. He says enviously 😁. I’m only using primes at the moment (17…45…90 mm sigma contemporary Lenses). I’ve been on the fence about zooms but that 28-70 for travel sure looks attractive . These are 3 photos I took last week at a family wedding in Tofino BC.

this photo was taken from an open boat in the Pacific while on a whale watching trip.

Tofino is a surfing, hiking and cycling town. It’s a magnet for young people… and old guys like me😁

a small wedding on a beach. The bride was as beautiful as the scenery.

Well they look very good to me and Tofino sounds like a great place to be with a camera.   I don't have the 17 or 45, but have the 35/50/90 I-series primes - I like all three, 90mm probably my favourite, love the size and using it in crop mode as a 135mm on the FpL.   Yes, the 28-70 is a nice walk around option, very manageable size wise on the FpL body.  The shot above was just an example of how useful dialling in that low ISO range if you haven't any filters in the bag, handy for sure, happy shooting😊.

Gorgeous!

Thank you Paul - Procida in 1, 2 and 4th image, a destination I very much enjoyed and will definitely re-visit for more than a few hours ferry hop (like this time), second shot as you probably guessed is from a very hot few hours wander around Pompeii, I crammed as much as I could into three and a half days in Naples🫠.

Lots of folks have the same kit. But somehow, Jayne, you put a unique and lovely signature on your renderings. Just sensational!
