Honest question, is this image a complete failure? I don't think it`s out of focus (AFc), but the dog runs too fast (really fast). Auto-shutter was the mistake 🤷‍♂️

ISO100, f4, (1/30sec)

Not in the least.

There is most certainly a place in the wold of photography for images like this.

My first thought was that it reminded me of an image that Daido Moriyama would make.  He does not use blurred movement much, but he does create high key and high contrast images.  A lot.

Also - take a look at some of the images of Peer Kugler:  https://www.peerkugler.com/photos/nowhere/#/view/ID164830

and - https://www.peerkugler.com/photos/nowhere/#/view/ID165024

Using blur in a longer exposure creates more of an abstract images vs. a documentary image - and abstract imagery is most certainly a legitimate way of creating photographic imagery.

Not every images has to adhere to the f/64 school of thought...

Just playing around on a walk.  Spotted these Star Magnolia and grabbed a shot or two.  They were blowing and I tried to focus on a center flower but missed.  Then I looked at the flower in the lower part of the frame and saw I got that one pretty well in focus.  So just to see how good this lens is, I cropped it down to 1:1.  So, this is not the center and the lens performed very well.  What do you think?  It will not replace my 100/2.8 APO mounted on my Nikon, but I am impressed at what the Q2 can do with situations it was not really designed for.

F/8, 1/6400, ISO 200

So, here is the full frame where I thought I was focusing on the moving central flower:

And here is the crop of the lower along the lower edge.

WOW!  This does not look like the product of a Newbie!  I am a sucker for shadows and this is a great one.  Did you know this would line up that way or did you luck out in your timing at being there?  Thank you McD.  I have noticed that the Q2 lens produces very nice sunstars with little or no flare.
