Just playing around on a walk.  Spotted these Star Magnolia and grabbed a shot or two.  They were blowing and I tried to focus on a center flower but missed.  Then I looked at the flower in the lower part of the frame and saw I got that one pretty well in focus.  So just to see how good this lens is, I cropped it down to 1:1.  So, this is not the center and the lens performed very well.  What do you think?  It will not replace my 100/2.8 APO mounted on my Nikon, but I am impressed at what the Q2 can do with situations it was not really designed for.

F/8, 1/6400, ISO 200

So, here is the full frame where I thought I was focusing on the moving central flower:

WOW!  This does not look like the product of a Newbie!  I am a sucker for shadows and this is a great one.  Did you know this would line up that way or did you luck out in your timing at being there?  Thank you McD.  I have noticed that the Q2 lens produces very nice sunstars with little or no flare.

Do you use any filters? What program do you use to convert to B&W? Thanks. Your images are extraordinary!! Well done!

Thanks a bunch for your kind words. :) I was apparently lucky with the timing. I have very limited time windows for shooting having two small daughters at home, but luckily most of these time windows come either early morning or late afternoon with fairly good light conditions (however, unfortunately depending on the level of pollution - always an issue in Bangkok).

Hello,
I do not use any filters when shooting. I work them first in color in LightRoom, then in PhotShop's BW layer mixer, sometimes in Nik Efex pro and finally, always in PS to adjust light, the contrasts and the depth of the blacks (the most difficult to dose finely)
Best regards .

My cabin? It`s old, but it serves it purpose better than anything. The building, the kitchen and the stove...... (and the Q2).
