Louis Posted August 25, 2018 Share #2 Posted August 25, 2018 What a wonderful Monochrom with great tonality. I love her expression.
abrewer Posted August 26, 2018 Share #3 Posted August 26, 2018 I Googled her and the band, and found only one video on YouTube. It wasn't of sufficient fidelity to tell anything about her voice or the band. American music lost two incredibly gifted black women the last year. First, Sharon Jones; and now Aretha. I hope Terry Marie steps forward to fill that void. Great pic, Brent.
fotografr Posted August 26, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted August 26, 2018 (edited) Thanks much Louis and Allan. Allan, my guess is that Teresa doesn't aspire to national or international recognition. The band has been together for ten years and has pretty much stayed local. Madison is fortunate in that many musicians and artists who could easily be on the big stage choose to stay here because the city is so beautiful and the lifestyle so pleasant. Two other examples of this are jazz pianist and composer Ben Sidran and the late, great Clyde Stubblefield, known as "the funky drummer." I think Teresa may fall into that category. fotografr Posted August 27, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted August 27, 2018 I thought it might be interesting to show what the image above was derived from. The CCD sensor in the original MM is so good one can take a small crop from a frame shot at 2500 ISO and still retain excellent image quality. The original Monochrom is my favorite Leica camera of all time. Welcome, dear visitor! topoxforddoc Posted August 27, 2018 Share #7 Posted August 27, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Brent, Lovely shot. I almost prefer the uncropped original. I see too many close up gig shots nowadays and I like to see the space and the other members of the band. Charlie
fotografr Posted August 27, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted August 27, 2018 Brent, Lovely shot. I almost prefer the uncropped original. I see too many close up gig shots nowadays and I like to see the space and the other members of the band. Charlie Thanks, Charlie. I also like full band shots, but generally just when they're taken from a unique angle or when there's dramatic lighting. In this case, I shot with the intention of cropping, which is why there are only pieces of other band members showing on the sides of the frame. Cheers,
