That chart is helpful, Dunk: thanks. I have 2 sets of the Marumi, which I think are the best substitute, but every time I see a shot with an Elpro, I (think I can) notice the difference.

The 'Raynox' section on the Extreme Macro website might interest anyone contemplating use of supplementary achromatic close-up lenses with any Leica / Leitz lenses.

Now, we can see things in details, almost as when the slide

is projected on giant screen with grains and subtle hues not viewable otherwise

😵 we may cry : what for ?

"Those were the days" (we can sing out loud) 🎰

Ken,

I discovered when I want to scan that those slides do have something magical.

But scanning them is a kind of discredit them as I can not reproduce them as I see them projected on wide screen.

very true. The film was produced with the idea that they would be projected large and infused with light.

And we could sing this as well:

This post is to "replace" the post #546 image.

I worked on this Kodachrome a bit to show "the shop keeper", may it be a bit too light, this time,

coloring is not quite the same, but that proves the Kodachrome slide scanning work is not so easy

( for me it's pleasure even if results are not "perfect")

The brightness of the white area of the dogs nose was brought into line for the 3 pictures. Further no changes or crops. But the distance from which the pictures were taken, varies.

90/2.8 2nd version + NON APO Extender! I expected more chromatic aberration... I was surprised by it, apart the grey-rendition of the blue sky.

I suspect that the colour of the sky and water were affected by the warm light reflecting off the buildings.  If you were using a digital camera and AWB then AWB will automatically compensate.  I assume that the boat was white but there's a colour cast on that too.

Pete.
