Icelandic horses… maybe related to the Norwegian horses previously showed … but Icelanders are proud of considering their horses as a breed of its own : there are many, everywhere… almost as many as sheeps… ;)

Your image puts me in mind of exercising horses in my youth in deep snow, riding bareback.  The softness of the horse was surprising, and the heat rising from them kept me warm.

...it was the last day of summer school holidays und the temperature was very high (accordng to northern germany... 30°C (86°F)  at 8:00 AM so we decided to get the kids and the horses very  early in the morning and went to the lake.

The first hour we were on our own  at around 7:30 more riders and horses came along (12 horses when we left )
