Advice on Macro equipment

My wife wants to start taking some macro and close-up photographs and neither of us has a lot of experience on the type of photos she has in mind.  Well lit close ups and extreme close-ups of foods, spices and ingredients in food and so on.  Not quite like the photos attached but similar in scale - perhaps more close and some wider up to dinner plate size.

I have suggested she could start by using my Leica CL with the 60mm macro lens but what other equipment would you recommend?  Any pointers for the type of stand, LED lights, etc?

Any help appreciated.

I would strongly suggest using a light box and table tripod like the Sirui. Your CL/60 lens is a great combination

Thank you.  A light box sounds like a great idea.  Thanks!

I guess I'll try to get this thread moving again. I did get shreaded on anotherplatform by saying macro is 1:3 on sensor and closer, their definition was 1:1 on sensor and closer.

Cyclamen flower opening. About 1:3 on sensor.

Swaddywell Pit Nature Reserve visit Sunday 21 August 2022 to observe / photograph the bank voles which scavenge under and around the bird feeders adjacent to the cabin. They are rather elusive and move very fast but occasionally they settle - especially when the habitat is baited with Aldi mixed nuts / seeds. Dunnocks also scavenge under the bird feeders. Most of the visible action is in the shadow areas under the bushes hence Lastolite reflector used to reflect sunlight into the shadows. Last Tuesday no bank voles were active; today just three were seen during a two hour observing session — plus some opportunist scavenging Dunnocks. Apparatus pix taken using Leica X Vario. Bank Vole pix taken using Leica CL / Sigma 105/2.8 Macro 'L' mount.  The Sigma 105/2.8 is fitted with a Leica STA-1 Tripod Collar - as used with Leica R APO 100/2.8 . BW, dunk
