Sorry. I did not realize SL was the camera. You are correct as I showed a SL2. If the SL has no port USB-C then it would not work.

For SL, you are limited to battery grip or to use a diy dummy battery with external power. The latter should be doable, but at your own risk (have been pondering on this myself, but haven't started...).
