What do you prefer the SL 75 f/2.0 or the SL 90 f/2.0?

I know the SL 90 is very good for portrait, but maybe this focal length has a little limitation to use for other things and not so versatile.

I am deciding to buy one of them and need - please - some help.

I decided for the 75 since I like to be close to the subject and also use it inside. I slightly prefer it over the more compressed images of the 90. It is close to 50 though, and it might happen that the 50 sees little use as sonn as 35 is available (35+75)

My further input as to choice for 75mm is my preference for environmental portraits.

Hey Man...

How are you liking the A9??

Did you sell all of your Leica stuff??

I've had all of the Leica M 90mm offerings and have always preferred the 75 ....... and to be honest often used it instead of 50mm which I have always found a bit too 'normal' as a focal length.

The 75/2 is a lovely lens on the SL ...... it has many of the narrow DOF and rendering features of the SL 50/1.4 without the weight/size penalty. For me 90 has always been a bit too long and restrictive in use.

Thank you so much!

I was thinking in the same way, but wasn't sure what could be the Best Buy.

Now, my decision process is completed :  SL 75 f/2.0!

I guess the choice for 75 or 90 is very personal and both focal length does not make a great difference when creating an image and the bokeh both lens generates are kind of similar. I went for the SL75corn instead cause I wanted it to pair with my 16-35SVE+90-280VE as a travel kit and in the M system, I already have the 50Noc & 90corn. Besides Leica store SG offered me the lens without wait, I gladly took it after making a quick decision although the 75mm was not a lens i've planned to buy from start, unlike the 16-35SVE. Gladly the SL75 fitted well into my travel kit now.

I was tempted to buy both the 75 and the 90, but my rational consciousness won out over lust and desire, and so I bought the 75.  I believe I made the right decision for my shooting style and subject matter; especially since I already own the APO Summicron-M 90, which I use sparingly.

I have PM'ed as to not take thread off topic

I came across your flickr page the other day. I can't put my finger on it but I prefer the images you took with Leica's in the past. Maybe I'm just biased.

Could be that since I've had the Sony I've been doing a lot more professional work, and any play time with the Sony has been mostly fun using it's technical abilities rather my creative ones. I get distracted by it's ability to focus and track quickly :D

I need a city break!
