Edited December 5 by romanus53

Same for mine, perhaps the attached file comes close to this subject. AFAIK Kilfitt-patent covered the hidden helicoid, not the optics. AFAIK Kilfitt-patent covered the hidden helicoid, not the optics. Kilfitt_DE000001855251U.pdf 367.63 kB · 6 downloads Thanks for this patent. After OCR and Google Translate (sorry my German is awful), I think this patent is the one that is referenced by the markings on the lens. The patent is for a concept of an optical zoom attachment that could be attached to another zoom lens to give it a greater zoom range. The optics of the attachment are not defined; it is only stated that such an approach makes the first zoom lens and the zoom attachment easier to design. Unfortunately the patent only lists the company applying for the patent and does not list the inventor. Although in this case the idea could be from Heinz Kilfitt himself. The mystery remains concerning who did the detailed design of the Multi-Kilar. From the patent can anyone find a location that can be used in Google Maps? I don't fully understand German addresses. When I search what I think is the address, Google Maps places the pin in a park. The factory may have been torn down and the land used for a park. One last comment, the Multi-Kilar is hard to use. It is not only the size, but the image is reversed upside down and backwards.
nocti lux Posted December 5 Share #353 Posted December 5 Hi, the adress is *An der Isar 4, Großhesselohe* located near the *Isarwerkkanal*, 75 meters north of the *Großhesseloher Brücke. 1
dg4mgr Posted December 5 Share #354 Posted December 5 (edited) Funny, the address is "An der Isar 4" on page 1 and "An der Isar 3" on page 5. Here is a link to the location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/R761o3N6v55fwQo27 (small addition: As the independent village of "Großhesselohe" at Kilfitt's time has been incorporated into the neigbour village "Pullach" since then, today's official address of the place is "An der Isar 3, 82049 Pullach im Isartal" ) Edited December 5 by dg4mgr 1

zeitz Posted December 5 Share #356 Posted December 5 Do you folks think the buildings there are original to Kilfitt and have been converted into residences? Pullach looks like a great residential area with trails along the Isar River and canals.
dg4mgr Posted December 5 Share #357 Posted December 5 A quick search for pictures brought up this one: https://www.digitale-luftbilder.de/products/luftbild-muenchen-grosshesseloher_bruecke-f482050 You will easily see the Buildings 3/4 north of the bridge when comparing to the google map. Seems they are old, and not newly built residences. To learn more seems I have to walk by, which might be doable in the next weeks.
