Gobert Posted April 27, 2018 Share #21 Posted April 27, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mine was delivered today - Build quality - Solid - (More solid and robust feeling than my Summicron 50/2 V5 and similar to my VM 35/1.7). Smooth well damped focus and no aperture ring looseness that Emulsive noted. IMG_7161s.jpg From an esthetical point of view it’s not mother’s most beautiful baby.

pgk Posted April 27, 2018 Share #22 Posted April 27, 2018 I'm not sure that you can. I'm interested in testing one in the first place so I contacted them. I started professionally testing lenses in about 1980 but that's another story .
cp995 Posted April 27, 2018 Share #23 Posted April 27, 2018 (edited) From an esthetical point of view it’s not mother’s most beautiful baby. For my taste it is! Looks much better than Leica Summicron 35mm and Zeiss Biogon lenses too ... pgk Posted April 30, 2018 Share #24 Posted April 30, 2018 Well, my copy has arrived. First impressions are of a solid little lens, quite well finished, if just marginally 'chunky' relative to a Summicron. I think that my first tests are going to have to be well thought out in order to manage expectations from a relatively cheap newcomer. Will post further when I've got something to say.

Mefty Posted May 3, 2018 Share #27 Posted May 3, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hamish send me one for testing. Unfortunately I have lot of work these days, so only some shots. The built quality is very good. But only 1EV klick is a little bit strange? It's coded to be a summicron 35mm. What I don't like is the bokeh, it is very harsh. My friend Elmar will test it with his Sony and soon post something on our blog. Welcome, dear visitor! Ko.Fe. Posted May 3, 2018 Share #30 Posted May 3, 2018 (edited) Something needs to be not perfect in this affordable to be lens. I could live with its bokeh and full stop clicks are just like on classic Industar-61. Edited May 3, 2018 by Ko.Fe.
pgk Posted May 4, 2018 Share #31 Posted May 4, 2018 OK so not getting enough time to shoot this lens as much as I'd hoped but here's one at about f/11. I'll reserve judgement until I have shot a lot more but it certainly can deliver well stopped down, in the right circumstances and in bright light, although this isn't a particularly sever test of may lenses to be fair. 6bit Posted May 28, 2018 Share #36 Posted May 28, 2018 Can someone photo a tape measure crossing the lens dead center left to right and measure the diastance from sensor to tape? Would be nice to calculate FoV/FL.

LichtUndDunkelheit Posted May 28, 2018 Share #38 Posted May 28, 2018 (edited) From an esthetical point of view it’s not mother’s most beautiful baby. I care a lot more about the aesthetical qualities of the output. Besides, its not a "look look me expensive" look. Ecar Posted May 28, 2018 Share #39 Posted May 28, 2018 Another review: https://leicarumors.com/2018/05/27/7artisans-35mm-f-2-lens-review-comparison-with-the-leica-summicron-m-35mm-f-2-asph.aspx/ Thanks. An important area missing from the comparison is an assessment of corner performance, which is the weakest point of the 7a 50/1.1 IMO. I'd be happy to contribute, but my copy is still on its way from China.
