I find the vector of your vision is like a tripwire that threatens to trigger an unexpected epiphany. The safest thing to say about your photographs is that they use a language that does not use words. It is the beginning of the argument that ends the argument. Everything is game, and nothing is safe.

Glasgow - Leica M2, 35mm Summaron F2.8, Kodak Portra

 

I used to have a Leica M9. I loved the colours it produced, plus I could use my Leica lenses on it. I sometimes miss having a colour digital Leica, but lately I've been using Kodak Portra 400 in my M2. I get it developed at £3 a roll on the high street, and scan it myself. The great thing about film, well Portra 400 at any rate, is that you simply scan it, and you're done. No tweaking of contrast, or levels, no blown highlights. No dodging or burning. 

 

I scanned this shot yesterday, from a film I shot a couple of months ago. I've tried to emulate the film look with digital files, but I just can't get this sort of look from anything but film.
