i thought its the same as the leica T 020 EVF..i think that was also 2.3MP but cant remember

The 020 is given as 2.4mpx.  According to the spec sheet referenced above the CL's is 2.36mpx with 0.74 x magnification.  Quite possibly the same or very similar.  A lot will depend upon how the performance of the sensor/processor combination drive's the EVF, but the figures don't bode well I'm afraid.

Looks like a winner!

Can't see much difference in specs from the TL2 . . . no internal memory, negligibly slower max electronic shutter speed, faster FPS, different battery . . .  very aesthetically pleasing form factor . . .

And thankfully no SL EVF!

"Grapevine" was accurate on all counts.  :)  (unsurprisingly...)

How very true, otherwise how are we married to our spouse? My wife also said the same thing about marrying me too. Apologies if I offended any married person.

I kind of liked the CL shown in this press photo, much less clinical than the earlier photos.

If I buy, it will be black.

Lets wait for the spec and we will know if it s a worthwhile pursuit.

Less than 24 hours to wait.......

Perfection is both boring and the end of everything. It’s the slight blemishes that keep like interesting. If things were perfect what is left to aspire to. This looks very good with a few unusual feature to keep it interesting. OK, maybe one or too more than enough to add interest but one also needs something to complain about ;-)

Vikas, how wise you are! Fully agree it is the imperfection that keep my aspirations alive for perfection to come.

I do not expect Leica to put the best in class of each component in a camera that is not priced at the top of their league. Or else who will buy their SL, Q, and TL2? Its only my personal viewpoint. Many will differ and think i have low expectations.

So far on paper, it is a camera i will likely buy, But after i hear the review of early users. No rush for me.

Cheers to all who look eagerly to Clooney birth.

I agree with those who say this looks much more appealing than the previous pictures suggested.

I'm wondering about the placement of the two dials on the top, though.

I've never used a T to TL, but on my Pana GX's I've always set the front dial to exposure comp and the rear one to aperture, so I can use my thumb for the latter and index finger for the former. This camera's top plate layout suggests you'd need to work both dials from the rear, so both with the thumb. Might be a bit clumsy....

Any T or TL users tell me I'm wrong?

Jim

The T series works very well in this respect.

There is more function on the top panel of the CL than you can infer from technical data sheet.  Both dials have buttons in their centers.  The Japanese quickstart guide shows some things that the buttons do.  The left button seems to let you cycle through PASM, and the right button does something with regard to setting ISO and perhaps exposure offset.  This might become clearer once the English quickstart guide and the instruction manual become available in an hour or two.
