Linford Posted March 8, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 8, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am planning a trip to Ireland in May and I plan on taking the M10 and a few lenses. I am plan on carrying a small wide-angle lens on the M while I'm on the course. I'm looking for a recommendation if anyone knows of an accessory bag that I can attach to my golf bag. Size is important because I will be utilizing a caddie most days. Of course if you have been to Ireland and have any recommendations I would be happy to hear from you. Cheers!--lt

jaapv Posted March 8, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2017 For such use you cannot afford to have anything but the ONA Berlin II in vintage Cognac leather... Available at you nearest Leica Boutique. You can have your saddler create a couple of loops to attach it.
Surelythisnameisfree Posted March 8, 2017 Share #3 Posted March 8, 2017 I would suggest one of the insert type bags like Tenba BYOB or Crumpler Inlays that could go by inside your golf bag

Perfect for fitting it to a roller type suitcase, over the extending handle. Not sure about a golf cart... Not a game I play. Seems to be a waste of a perfectly good walk! Cheers!--lt Greetings from Ireland. I hope you enjoy your holiday here. I am still waiting on my M10 to arrive in Ireland, hopefully before May. For such use you cannot afford to have anything but the ONA Berlin II in vintage Cognac leather... Available at you nearest Leica Boutique. You can have your saddler create a couple of loops to attach it. Your saddler? I am still trying to find a leather worker in Ireland who will fix my collection of vintage Leica leather ever ready cases where the thread has come away due to ageing. Most just nod their heads and say that "you need a special machine for that". I would suggest that Linford gets whatever leather work is required for his new bag before he comes to Ireland. I don't know much about golf bags. While my two brothers are golf fanatics, I am of a similar outlook to Bill Livingston. However, if you can combine doing two things that you enjoy, then you are truly a lucky man. Don't forget to look around our lovely country as well as playing golf while you are here. Eoin Posted March 8, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 8, 2017 Poor Caddy, not only does he have to carry your Golf Bag, but you also expect him to carry your Photography equipment too. Most good Golf Bags have large pockets, wrap your camera inside of your ("dry") wet gear and remove it when needed. I wouldn't bother with a separate Bag for a couple of hours on the course. Then again, it is Ireland your coming to, odds are the pocket for the wet gear will be empty because you'll be wearing it, all it ever does here is rain!!!. Linford Posted March 8, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted March 8, 2017 Thanks for the input. I'm going to try the Tenba BYOB 7, and test it in my golf bag here before I go. I'm thinking the M10 with perhaps the Elmarit 2.8/28mm would be a tiny package. Cheers--lt
Herr Barnack Posted March 9, 2017 Share #9 Posted March 9, 2017 I can't comment on the M10, but as for the Elmarit 2.8/28mm, you just can't go wrong. For a one camera one lens kit with a few small accessories, I use a Filson small field bag: https://www.filson.com/luggage-bags/field-bags/field-bag-small.html#196 I chose the tan color for hot weather carry. I put my M-P into a Zing XL neoprene pouch for padding ( https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=113798&gclid=CPrrjeq6yNICFUq5wAodHu8Fvg&is=REG&ap=y&c3api=1876%2C92051677682%2C&Q=&A=details ) then insert the whole works into the Filson bag. This is a great alternative to the traditional camera day bags that are on the market.
exile Posted March 9, 2017 Share #10 Posted March 9, 2017 Elmarit 28/2.8 ASPH was my first reaction also, though the summicron could be the ticket if you want more emphasis on a player taking a stroke into a diffuse but contextual background. The high ISO capabilities of the M10 should give you a fast enough shutter speed to freeze motion even under grey overcast skies. The Filson bag looks good. Billingham digital Hadley another option of course. Enjoy the trip!
lm_user Posted March 9, 2017 Share #11 Posted March 9, 2017 I recommend using the rangefinder wnen assessing the distance to the hole. Focus on the pin and then read the distance off the DOF scale on the lens

Steve Spencer Posted March 9, 2017 Share #13 Posted March 9, 2017 Do they make a club for infinity? Yeah, that would be the three wood, and with my golfing ability infinity is the number of strokes it would take for me to get the ball in the hole. Cliff S Posted March 9, 2017 Share #14 Posted March 9, 2017 Save yourself the inconvenience of carrying a camera bag AND a golf bag. Just bring the M and lenses. Use the M as the club. Put a noctilux as the driver, 35mm pitching wedge and the beautiful summaron as putter. The LV screen is as tough as a gorilla. Or so it says. A good strap lets you get a great swing acceleration. As a bonus, set the camera to multiple exposure, timer set to 10s, swing at 9s and get the whole thing recorded without having to even hold the camera. Just my 2 cents.
