To each his/her own. I spent less than 3 hours making calls to find 2 cameras, one black and one silver, with one of the dealers willing to trade my M240.

I guess you got lucky then Mr. S because I and one of my friends tried that approach an hour every other day for like ten days and got tired of coming up empty handed.

But like I said, it is not a big deal, I have seen my pro friends do mind bouncing work with the M240 and they are sticking with it because it just works and they got tired of waiting. Like my mentor says, "It ain't the car that wins the race, it's the madman behind the wheel", LOL!

I'm just an average hobby guy who got inspired by my dad's high school buddy's amazing work and career and like to make a nice photo once and awhile. I'm putting the extra $4,000 I would have to come up with after selling my M240 and getting some engine work done on my work truck, taking a month off in the Fall to travel with the 240.

Maybe the M10 is not the camera for me at least at $7,000, I expect most of you are all much better at taking photos than me. All good yo!

Before giving up a few weeks ago and deciding to pass on the M10, a fair number of us have had orders placed with several places since February and are still not coming up with what we want which in the case of my friends and I is a black one. Not all of us have time to keep calling around, I don't and neither do my friends who have careers as photographers even.

Seems like there might be enough issues with this camera on launch that it might be what is causing the slow release of product? Either way, I and three of my friends have all cooled off on getting this camera and I know in my case I will likely wait a couple years and get it used.

Props to those who managed to get it and are happy, no issues, etc. I just know for me personally, it is not life or death for me to get it since I am only an average photo hobby guy and the 240 I have will allow me to make photos just as good as I could make with the M10.

I haven't had any issues using the m10. I think it's true what other people have been saying for months, it's always hard to get an M, especially now that the m240 is 4 yrs old. Be patient, it's worth it. The new viewfinder is great.

You all were making me really nervous as I placed a good chunk of money in an order of an m10, 28lux and 50lux, only a week ago, so I called the other official leica store in Rome and they also have several m10 and lenses coming this week.

I hope that the availability problem will also soon resolve for you all.

Finally took delivery of a Silver M10 from Leica Store Las Vegas!  Didn't wait too long for this one, probably about 4 weeks.

I had my name at 2 other stores which, as I'm told, would've been a couple more months.

But they seem to be trickling in.

....forgot to mention that for the 2 stores that indicated continued wait time; I had put my name in in March.

I placed my order for a black M10 in late March with the Leica store in Washington DC and picked it up today.  (I paid the pre-increase price.)  They said that there was "no rhyme or reason" to their shipments from Leica, but they were caught up on orders for the silver model.  They said they were filling "February orders" for black models, but, as I mentioned above, I put in my order in late March.  I have it with me at work-can't wait to get home to play with it.

I also have a pending order with Adorama from the same date.  That's being canceled today, so someone is moving up the list over there.

I was talking to Marc at Glazer’s in Seattle and as of lunch time he had an M10 in silver that wasn’t spoken for.

(I work around three blocks from there which makes for a dangerous existence for my bank accounts)

So get better. Put in the work, which is a blast. M10 won’t make you a better photographer, but it will make you a different photographer.

Here in SW France things seem to be easing up somewhat. I waited four days for a dealer to get back to me with the Black M10 I wanted. That was just over a week ago, but since then a couple more dealers have emailed me with the news that they too have received both black and chrome M10's and I guess they don't have much in the way of waiting lists either because I only started looking for the camera locally less than two weeks ago, I bought the first one and now I'm being offered delivery from several other places I'd sent inquiries too as well.

I do have another on order from my favourite US dealer, but last I heard I was around #50 on a +200 person waiting list. If and when my number comes up with them I will buy that one too, I can wait for that one.

Well Leica I have now committed to you, getting some new lenses and accessories.

Can't help but think I'm still missing something though!

Have my name and money down at a couple of dealers in melbourne. Told supply late August so just need a bit of patience.  Yes, I am after a silver but strangely enough I am told by dealers here that black is currently easier to obtain.

Maybe supply is finally catching up with initial demand. I got the call from Tamarkin Camera today that a silver M10 is headed my way. I think I got on their list the second week of February and at the time they estimated it would be four to six months. Looks like they came in right around the middle of that range.
