Pretty crazy how this lens design from the 1920s renders so well wide open.

4/300 Pan-Tele-Kilar with Multi-Kilar-2x

4/300 Pan-Tele-Kilar with Multi-Kilar-4x

all shot with M240 and EVF and stopped down as it looks like the Kilfitts have problems to reach focus on this infinite object. And lots of pp and please apologize the sensor-dirt 😉

Very nice, Romanus! Indeed the old Telyt comes out best by far. Can you tell us the productions years of the three lenses?

Incidently both Tely and Pan-Tele-Kilar were build 1970 while the converter might be earlier. The Telyt is the best of the doublet-lenses I have tried but is a late design. The Multi-Kilar is a weired construction consisting ofd eight lenses and does not loose that much quality-wise. The Tele-Kilar is a 4-lens-2-element design and superior (to my eyes) than the Fern-Kilar (doublet). The Pan-Tele-Kilar is awsome focusing from infity to 6 feet while ratio is 1:3.

A number of pictures do not show real attributes of the quoted lens in use. The subject often shows less photographic skill than a 'Point and Shoot' approach. I am thinking of pulling-out from this Forum. The quality in many pictures submitted has gone downhill.

Hello Pablo,

As I'm naturally curious, before you leave the forum, please share.

What is your idea of photographic skill ?

How does it differ from P&S approch ?

Would you very kindly take your discussion to another thread and leave this thread for posting pictures taken through older glass please?

Pete.
